Gypsy Rose Blanchard has reacted to the recent accusations, claiming she faked her abuse story to become a celebrity.

As previously reported by The Blast, Gypsy Rose's mom, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard, convinced numerous doctors that her daughter suffered from a variety of illnesses and medical conditions, including asthma, cancer, Down syndrome, and epilepsy, among others.

Although investigators suspect that Dee Dee had Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy and that Gypsy never actually had the conditions Dee Dee claimed she did, some social media users are claiming otherwise.

A video from content creator @spacegh0st333 recently went viral, which claimed that Gypsy was never actually abused.

“I'm not 100% sure Dee Dee Blanchard ever actually abused Gypsy Rose,” the TikToker stated, before claiming that Gypsy Rose was diagnosed with a chromosome disorder known as microdeletions in 2011. However, it is important to note that The Blast could not confirm this diagnosis.

“This chromosome disorder quite literally explains every single thing that Gypsy had. Seizures, disturbance of the eye, heart problems, increased possibility of behavioral mental health, unusual facial feature,” the TikToker alleged before showing a pamphlet that described the disorder, which states that “some people with this disorder needed a feeding tube.”

The social media user further alleged that while Dee Dee apparently “exaggerated and embellished all of Gypsy’s conditions to gain money, attention, and free things,” it reminded them of “another individual who is using Munchausen By Proxy on someone without a formal diagnosis to obtain free surgeries, fame, and status.”

The content creator later acknowledged that there are “two sides to every story,” but it is “too bad one of [them are] not here to tell their side."

“I know someone's gonna come in here and be like, ‘but she was tied to the bed.’ Where's the proof in that? We are going and listening to someone that has constantly lied and been caught in their lies,” the TikToker alleged of Gypsy in the video. “I'm not saying that it didn't happen. I'm saying there's no proof.”

"Don't tell me about my mistakes and choices when I am who has to live with them on my conscience; don't project what you want me to be because you find it more interesting."

"I am NOT a celebrity. I AM a trauma survivor who is healing from emotional, mental, and medical abuse," Gypsy continued, further stating that she is sharing her story "in the hopes it would educate about Munchausen By Proxy and inspire other survivors."

However, she says this has resulted in her "abuse to be invalidated by content creators on social media who do not have any psychological education to back up their claims despite multiple psychiatrists specializing in MBP such as Dr. Marc Feldman, who interviewed for 2017 HBO's 'Mommy Dead & Dearest.'"

"After receiving my medical records obtained for my case, he had high belief that my mother indeed had MBP. Don't ask me to advocate, I AM HEALING," she concluded.

It is important to note that while the TikToker claims that “all the surgeries [Gypsy] had were explained” and that she “didn't have any unnecessary surgeries,” individuals with Munchausen By Proxy can create the appearance of illness through medication abuse.

Dee Dee attended nursing school, giving her knowledge of how medications work and which medicines treat specific diseases. This expertise could have helped her to manipulate doctors into performing the alleged unnecessary surgeries or prescribing medications that Gypsy allegedly didn't need.

Additionally, if Dee Dee convinced a doctor that Gypsy had specific symptoms requiring medication, administering that medication could produce additional symptoms or side effects, meaning she could then use these new symptoms to persuade doctors of further diagnoses.
