While she is no stranger to sharing her personal life with the world, the reality TV star recently shared the emotional toll of enduring five unsuccessful IVF treatments.

On Monday, the 43-year-old took to her Instagram Stories to offer encouragement to a fan who shared a deeply personal struggle similar to her own. During a Q&A session, a fan asked the star, "Had 6 failed IVFs - how did u find the strength to keep going? It's debilitating." 

Kardashian responded by sharing her own journey with IVF, revealing the toll it took on her body and spirit before she decided to trust in a higher power. In her words:

"I stopped after a year of trying (5 failed IVF cycles, 3 retrievals) my body relaxed and I believed in God's plan for my life. Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us."

The actress also offered advice and empathy, emphasizing the importance of health and faith, writing, "Also lots of optimizing my health. I know how hard it is to feel like you're not trying, but believing in God's plan and saying your prayers is so powerful. All the best!"

While her candid response highlighted the resilience required to navigate such a challenging journey, it is worth noting that the process took a significant toll on her body, leading her to stop the procedures.

In a 2022 update, The Blast reported that Kardashian informed fans about her post-IVF recovery. Following months of speculation about her possible pregnancy due to weight gain from the treatments, she clarified her situation. 

Across the snap which featured a black-and-white mirror selfie with her face obscured, the TV personality declared, "Finally getting my energy back."

She noted that this improvement came about ten months after she ended her IVF treatments and reassured those with similar experiences that it would get better.

The picture also featured a treadmill monitor, indicating she had paused after 12 laps, symbolizing her gradual return to fitness and normalcy.

The Mother-Of-Four's Body Changes During IVF Made Her Happy

Before her Instagram story update, the mother-of-four opened up about the changes her body underwent during her IVF treatments. 

She explained how it impacted her physically stating, "So, obviously, my body has changed, but it was like all of the hormones that the doctors put me on."

The Poosh founder reportedly gained over 15 pounds during the treatments, bringing her approximate weight to 115 pounds. 

Despite the initial challenges, she eventually embraced her new curvy physique and even stated that she had no plans to be skinny again.

Describing her skinnier self as "cringey," Kardashian noted, "I used to always say this: When I'm super skinny, just know I'm not happy."

In addition to her acceptance, Kardashian revealed that she also had the full support of her husband, Travis Barker.

"I mean, every day, Travis is like, 'You're perfect.' If I make one complaint, he's like, 'You're perfect. You're so fine… You've never been better.' Now I'm so into it," the star revealed.

Kourtney Kardashian's IVF Journey Affected Her Mental Health

On an episode of Hulu's "The Kardashians," the reality TV star confided in her mother, Kris Jenner, about the downsides of IVF. The Blast noted that Kardashian revealed that trying to get pregnant through IVF had been "awful."

She described the process as particularly difficult given her usual focus on maintaining a clean and careful approach to what she put into her body. 

The media personality confessed that the medication triggered menopause and caused her depression, having the opposite effect of what was intended.

"I think because I'm so clean and careful with what I put into my body, it's just having the complete opposite reaction and is working as a contraceptive instead of helping us," she explained in a confessional.

Kardashian expressed feeling "super moody and hormonal," describing herself as "a lunatic half the time."

Kris Jenner Empathised With Daughter's Struggle

In a heartfelt moment during the show's episode, Jenner also shared her own experiences with fertility struggles while comforting her daughter. 

She resonated deeply with her daughter's experiences and revealed her own conception struggles from the mid-90s. The famous Momager shared:

"I got pregnant in 1994 and had a miscarriage, and my body entirely shut down. It stopped making anything. I was moody and depressed, and bloated. I didn't feel well. Everything you just described, the exact same thing happened."

In a confessional, Jenner elaborated that despite Kardashian already having three beautiful children, the pain and challenges of conception still weighed heavily on her. 

She acknowledged that the desire to bring a child into the world with the love of one's life was profound and deeply felt.
