A single mom, Elizabeth Teckenbrock, has shaken the internet up by sharing her emotions on TikTok. And now somehow her story is all over what many TikTokers jokingly call "MessyTok."
The video that's received more than 45 million views in just a few days has some people feeling bad for her, others understanding her emotions, and some attacking her for various reasons.
And then her ex-husband entered the chat and shook things up even more. (This is where "MessyTok" comes into play.)
Elizabeth Teckenbrock Has The Internet Talking And Taking Sides
In the video shared less than a week ago, Elizabeth is seen making cupcakes for her birthday so her "babies can feel happy they are singing" to her to celebrate her day. As she's making the cupcake mix, she's tearing up and getting emotional.
This short video hit home for so many other single parents who dropped into the comments to share their thoughts.
"Being a single mom is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. At times it can be so lonely and overwhelming," one person wrote. Another said, "My mom was a single mom for a lot of my life. I watched her cry when she thought no one was watching. You’re so seen. So much respect for you."
And out of the more than 137,000 comments, there were many other positive and supportive comments. But then there were also many negative comments thanks to a plot twist!
Elizabeth's Ex Entered The Chat!
A few days after Elizabeth's video blew up on TikTok, her ex-husband Andrew decided to rebuttal with his POV in a stitch that shows part of her viral video.
"So I've been sent this video a lot over the last few days, people asking my thoughts and my comments on it," he said. "And before anyone says, oh you don't know her situation or, you don't know what she's going through, well, I do, cause I lived it."
He said he's her ex-husband and has full custody of their children. He then showed their "parent agreement" that says he has "all weekday and weekend timesharing with the children." He also claims that she owes more than $21,000 in child support.
"She was arrested for check fraud, and during that hearing, it turned out that it was found that she stole almost a million dollars from another guy," he continued. "And also, she faked cancer in the past."
He then showed "scans that she would send and post on her page."
"So to sum it up, this person, for people that follow her are giving her praise and telling her how strong and how amazing she's doing, well, she's really not a full-time mom," he said. "She barely has her kids. She goes out all the time, and she doesn't even have a job. She's just really not someone that other single moms should really be looking towards for inspiration or anything like that."
Viewers Of Elizabeth's Ex-Husband's Video Were Not Ready For This!
Shots were definitely fired with Andrew's video and viewers were not quite ready for this huge plot twist.
"The way my tears sucked back into my eyes!" one viewer wrote in the comments. Another added, "The way my jaw just hit the floor."
And that was the common theme of the comment section.
"Wait whatttttttttt this is the last thing I was expecting," another viewer wrote. "Okay I felt sorry for her at first, but all I could think about is man if I was baking ANYTHING my kids would’ve been sad if I didn’t have them helping me."
One viewer even said, "I knew there was more to the story." And many others applauded him for being a good father and sharing his side of the story.
But Wait! There's More!
Elizabeth didn't take long to see his video and share more of her side of the story.
"I want to first start this video by saying this is not to bring a single bit of hate to Andrew, and I will never do that. I haven't done that on my page before, and I won't do it now, no matter who he is, which has always been the case because I will never bring the parent of my children down because that's not okay for them," she said.
"Putting the things on the internet for my kids to one day see because of who he is, I will never do it for them because it's not the right thing to do."
She then explained that Andrew has created websites and TikTok videos since she left him. She said she feels that's the "Scientologist aspect of his life."
"I don't know if anyone is familiar with that, but getting out of a Scientologist mindset in a relationship is not a good thing and not an easy thing," she continued. "Andrew is extremely, extremely abusive and has always been extremely abusive."
Elizabeth Shared More Of The Story
Elizabeth said that Andrew told her on the morning that he posted his side of the story on TikTok that if she deleted her social media pages he wouldn't do what he's doing and won't "destroy" her life.
"He says that he will not take them down unless I'm off social media, so yesterday, I deleted social media to try to limit access to problems," she continued. "I have been so mentally not okay since that happened."
She further explained her custody agreement and said she does see her children.
"I'm the one who hosts their birthday parties, I'm the one who puts them to bed, I'm the one who does everything until he pulls them away," she said.
"And the reason by that is the agreement that you guys have seen online, is when I first left him out of abuse, I had no resources, no money, nothing. He was a doctor. And he said if you sign these papers, nothing will change on when you see them and I will not ruin your life. I will leave you alone. And so I did, in a mentally bad state of abuse and wanting it to stop."
Comments were a mixed bag of understanding and calling Elizabeth out.
"His screen name is Inventing Elizabeth I think that shows right there how crazy he is," one person shared. Another said, "All you had to say was 'Scientologist' and that’s all I needed."
One viewer pointed out, "There’s always 3 stories, his story, your story, and the truth. You have every right to tell yours. You can tell you love your babies. Stay strong. I was in an abusive relationship. I know how it is."
