Keke Palmer And Ex-Boyfriend Call Truce On Domestic Violence Restraining Order Case

The heated case between Keke Palmer and her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson, appears to be settling behind the scenes.

The multi-hyphenate star made waves in 2023 when she filed for a domestic violence restraining order against her ex. However, new documents obtained by The Blast show that this case will no longer go to court.

According to legal documents filed by Palmer's attorney, the hearing for her domestic violence restraining order will not hold. It was scheduled for July 16, 2024, at 8:30 a.m; however, this date has been taken off the Court's calendar.

Palmer's lawyer did not share why the hearing will no longer hold; however, it may have something to do with a truce behind the scenes. The hearing's dismissal comes five months after the former couple agreed to enter a court-mandated mediation session.

Last December, The Blast reported the "Akeelah and the Bee" star and Jackson had postponed the domestic violence case to attend mediation. The Court ordered the exes to participate in the session on the same day Palmer filed her abuse complaint.

The pair agreed to continue the case on a "mutually agreeable date" while "all orders contained in the Temporary Restraining Order issued on November 9, 2023," would remain in effect until the scheduled hearing.

In her domestic violence allegations, The Blast noted that Palmer painted Jackson as a repeat offender. She claimed he frequently abused her physically and verbally, sometimes in the presence of their minor child.

The actress accused Jackson of destroying several personal properties, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses.

He allegedly threw her belongings into the street, stopped her from running away by taking her car keys, and threatened to kill himself with a gun if she ever left him.

Palmer claimed he would hit her in front of their son and spew profanities about her to the little boy. She highlighted other instances of physical and emotional abuse, with one brutal incident captured on her home's surveillance camera.

In the terrifying surveillance video, Jackson was shown physically attacking Palmer in her home. His actions matched her description of the incident in the documents, which read:

"On Sunday, November 5, Darius trespassed into my home, physically attacked me, knocked me over my couch and pinned me down, and stole my phone after I threatened to call the police."

"The police were called and arrived before Darius left. After interviewing me, my sister, and Darius, they made him leave and warned him not to come back. They also encouraged me to file for a domestic violence restraining order," Palmer recalled.

In another case of Jackson's abuse, Palmer claimed he nearly hurt their son while changing his diapers. The alleged abuser was upset over the boy's crying and started to get rough with him physically, forcing her to intervene.

"Darius was angry, and it almost became a tug of war with Leo. Darius finally let go, and Leo was not harmed," Palmer recounted, adding: "but as I was holding Leo, trying to comfort him and finish changing his diaper, Darius hit me in the head before storming out of the room."

The entertainer stressed that her son motivated her to end the toxic cycle with Jackson, as he deserved to be raised in a loving and safe environment. On that note, Palmer begged the Court to keep her ex away from her and their son.

The drama between Palmer and her ex-boyfriend extended to their families, as the latter's brother filed a restraining order against her. In January, The Blast reported that Sarunas Jackson had asked the court to keep the actress and her mom away from his loved ones.

In his filing, Sarunas accused the Palmers of harassing him and his family with false claims. He claimed the multi-hyphenate star used her celebrity status to run a smear campaign against the Jacksons, resulting in death threats from the public.

"She has harassed and stalked my friends and family's social media," the documents alleged, adding: "She has reached out to people in relation to me to lie on [sic] me and my family. Has caused career damage."

Sarunas implored the Court to keep the Palmers at least 150 yards away from him, his family, his home, and his workplace. He also requested they stop publicly or privately discussing him and his family.
