Gypsy Rose Blanchard's post-prison dream of working with Kim Kardashian just came true!
The former convict and the reality TV queen recently joined hands in the season 5 preview footage of Hulu's "The Kardashians." Gypsy and Kim's partnership shocked viewers as the pair gave no hints of ever meeting in person.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Finally Meets Prison Reform Activist Hero Kim Kardashian
It is no secret that Kim has been actively working with multiple presidential administrations to reform the prison system and get inmates released early. To achieve this goal, she is also studying to become a lawyer, a passion that resonates deeply with Gypsy.
After spending eight years behind bars for orchestrating the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard — who manipulated and abused her into thinking she was terminally ill — Gypsy fully understands the reality of life behind bars and the needed changes to be made.
This goal seemingly brought her and Kim together, with the preview footage capturing the reality TV star knocking on a door and getting welcomed by the former convict as reported by ET.
"Hi, Gypsy!" Kim says upon seeing her fellow prison reform activist, and the latter responds with an excited "Hi!" before the duo hug, showing a closeness that presumably developed behind the scenes.
Gypsy Has Been Vocal About Her Interests In Working With Kim
Before the preview footage unveiled Gypsy and Kim's friendship, the media personality publicly declared her interest in working with the socialite. She shared her dream of a future partnership under one of the entertainer's social media posts.
Kim had included Gypsy's 2017 documentary, "Mommy Dead and Dearest," on her list of must-watch true crime shows. In response to the shout-out, the 32-year-old commented: "Maybe we should unite forces together to make real change within the justice system."
This isn't the first time Gypsy has aired her interest in working with Kim, as she once noted it as her post-prison goal. Shortly after regaining her freedom, she told Extra:
"It would be cool. She has that huge platform for prison reform, and I have been in prison! So, having those two elements, I think we could do some good in the world!"
The Former Convict Reflected On Her Traumatic Past
Besides raving about her hopes of working with Kim, Gypsy reflected on the traumatic road that led her to prison. Her story began in 2015 when her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn stabbed her mother to death.
The incident was orchestrated by Gypsy, who suffered years of abuse from her mother's Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy condition, and she was convicted of second-degree murder. Looking back, the 32-year-old said:
"I was in prison for eight and a half years. I think my sentence was fair. I take it as a learning experience. I did something wrong. and I take accountability for that."
When asked if she regretted what happened and would have chosen another way to escape Dee Dee's abuse, Gypsy lamented:
"Of course, I regret what happened. I have moments where I still cry. I have moments where I still grieve. I still have the trauma from it. If I could go back in time, I absolutely would."
Gypsy Believes She Inspired A Taylor Swift Song
Gypsy's fans know Kim isn't the only celebrity she adores, as she has been vocal about her love for Taylor Swift. Earlier in May, The Blast reported the 32-year-old believed she inspired one of the singer's hit songs, "Fresh Out The Slammer."
The track, which follows the story of a woman getting out of prison and taking off with her lover, allegedly struck a chord with Gypsy.
According to sources, she saw her story in the emotional song as she moved in with her now-estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, following her release from prison.
The similarities didn't end there, as part of the song's lyrics read: "camera flashes, welcome bashes." These words seemingly referred to how paparazzi followed Gypsy after her release, and her family also threw a welcome party for her.
Fans Supported Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Theory
Gypsy wasn't alone in suspecting she was Swift's muse, as some fans echoed similar theories on X. One platform user wrote, "A song called fresh out of the slammer? Who was recently released from prison and is a big swiftie? Miss Gypsy Rose."
"Guys, fresh out the slammer is actually a tribute to Gypsy Rose Blanchard!" another supporter declared, while a third penned, "Fresh out the slammer was written from Gypsy Rose Blanchard's perspective, and you can't tell me otherwise."
Unfortunately, the viral speculations didn't mean Gypsy had the opportunity to meet her idol. Sources noted that there had been zero communication between the pair despite the media personality's well-known love for the singer.
