The man accused of murdering Nipsey Hussle is asking for the prosecution to hand over all investigative reports from criminal investigations of Nipsey Hussle before he died.
Eric Holder’s attorney filed a document on Tuesday of all of the materials they are asking to be turned over to the defense.
Among the list of items include:
“The criminal history of the decedent, along with any and all unredacted and unedited police and arrest reports related to his arrest for any criminal offense or suspected criminal conduct, including any and all traffic citations.“
“Any and all investigative reports and their results of the decedent as it relates to any criminal investigations before his death.“
“Any and all information from all sources related to the gang affiliation, gang membership and participation in gang activities by the decedent, all .witnesses and the defendant, not limited to F .I. Cards, police reports, photographs and arrest reports.”
The request comes just after the New York Times reported that Nipsey Hussle had been under investigation by the LAPD before his death.
He is also looking for any video evidence that was obtained, including bodycam footage, dashcam video, or surveillance video.
Eric Holder was arrested on April 2 for the murder of Nipsey Hussle. He pled not guilty a few days and his bond was set at $5 million.
His charges include one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Holder faces life in prison if found guilty.
Holder allegedly opened fire on Nipsey Hussle while the rapper was outside his clothing store in Los Angeles.
The District Attorney’s Office believes Holder confronted Nipsey after a conversation where the rapper accused Holder of snitching.
Herman Douglas, who worked for Nipsey, testified to the grand jury that he saw Holder come up to Nipsey during their initial discussion before the murder. Douglas testified that he heard Nipsey tell Holder that he heard “they got some paperwork” on Holder.
Douglas testified that he “had an uneasy feeling” about Holder but he “never in a million years would I have thought he would have came back and done that, you know, judging by the conversation.”
He explained, “I understand somebody’s arguing and somebody leaves out you kind of expect that, but there was never no argument. It was never — like I said, Nipsey was basically looking out for him, telling him that, you know, ‘I haven’t read it, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but you need to address it.’ that’s what Nipsey was doing.”
Douglas said the conversation was not particularly heated and he didn’t feel anyone was disrespecting anyone else.
The grand jury also heard testimony from the woman who allegedly drove Holder to and from the scene on the day of the murder. The witness (who was not identified in the grand jury transcript) got immunity in return for testimony.
She described how she drove him from the scene but was unaware he had fired any shots or who had been shot at.
The woman testified that she did not hear about Nipsey Hussle’s murder until she got home and had already dropped Holder off at his cousin’s house.
