Cameron Boyce's Anti-Seizure Medication the Focus of Death Investigation

Cameron Boyce was prescribed anti-seizure medication and investigators want to determine what role, if any, the medication might have played in his untimely passing.

After an autopsy did not reveal a cause of death, investigators will now wait for the results of the toxicology exam to help determine what led to Boyce's death.

According to our sources, investigators want to determine if Boyce had been taking his anti-seizure medication for his epilepsy and, if so, how much.

We're also told investigators want to see if he took anything else that may have reacted poorly with the prescription drug he was already taking.

As The Blast first reported, Boyce had a history of epileptic seizures and his family relayed that information to investigators after the young star died.

After Boyce died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles, his family released a statement and revealed some of his medical condition.

"He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated," Boyce's family said.

They added, "The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him."

The family later confirmed Boyce suffered from epilepsy, saying, "Cameron’s tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was Epilepsy. We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral--which in and of itself, is agonizing."

After his passing, Disney released a statement saying, "From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples' lives through his humanitarian work. He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend."
