According to NBC News, Barron, the youngest child of former President Trump, was chosen by the Republican Party of Florida as one of the state's at-large delegates to the Republican National Convention.

In the released statement, Florida GOP chairman Evan Power said: "We have a great delegation of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and even Trump family members. Florida is continuing to have a great convention team, but more importantly, we are preparing to win Florida and win it big."

Barron's appointment as a delegate marks his most prominent political role thus far. He has mostly stayed away from the political scene, maintaining a notably more private life than his elder siblings, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., who will also serve as Florida at-large RNC delegates alongside Trump's daughter Tiffany.

The 18-year-old's name was brought up last month at the commencement of his father's New York criminal trial regarding payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

At the time, the former president's legal team requested that Trump should be allowed to be at Barron's high school graduation on May 17, a request that Judge Juan Merchan approved.

The Trump family has a strong presence in Florida's RNC delegation. Eric, the delegation's chairman, recently participated in a conference call with party leaders alongside Power, the chairman of the Republican Party of Florida.

Apart from Trump's children, Barron, Eric, Donald Jr., and Tiffany, the Florida GOP selected other delegates who have close ties with the former president and his family. These include Michael Boulous, Tiffany Trump's husband, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Jr.'s fiancée.

Notably absent from the list were former White House advisors Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, who have stepped away from politics since Trump's loss in 2020. The couple is reportedly now focusing on raising their children and leading a private life.

Insiders close to the family suggest that Melania is transitioning to a more hands-off approach with her son, Barron.

She is reportedly granting him greater autonomy as he steps into adulthood while still maintaining a watchful eye amid his father's legal battles and presidential campaign.

"While he was still a minor she zealously protected him and we knew very little about the details of his daily life," a source told the DailyMail.

"I think he's allowed to make more decisions for himself now. He can invite anyone to dinner he wishes. He's slowly becoming more public," the tipster added.

Earlier in 2017, Barron faced unwarranted attention on social media, prompting former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton, to call for his privacy, urging trolls to allow him to enjoy a childhood free from scrutiny.

Very recently, Clinton came to Barron's defense after he turned 18 and was branded "fair game" by a former NBC executive who took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of Trump and his youngest son on his birthday.

In the now-deleted post, Mike Sington wrote, "Barron Trump turns 18 today. He's fair game now."

While speaking on "The View," Clinton defended Barron's right to privacy, saying, "I think he's a private citizen. I feel so strongly that if you are a private citizen, you have an unimpeachable right to privacy, and I think the media should leave him alone."

Standing at an impressive 6ft 7in, Barron is said to be a dedicated supporter of his father's 2024 campaign and is now confirmed to follow in his footsteps. However, he reportedly wants to establish his voice and platform in doing so.

Per the insider, Barron, as he matures, enjoys more decision-making freedom, including hosting dinners and engaging with high-profile figures like Iranian-American entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David and garnering praise for his wit, charm, and manners,

Bet-David lauded Barron's entertaining anecdotes: "For an hour and a half, we just watched Barron run dinner with stories and entertainment. Oh my God. Everything."

The businessman went on to describe Barron as "sharp, funny, sarcastic, tough - not weak" and a "freaking stud."
