"You're not alone. If I can do it, anyone can. But you need to communicate and be honest about it as much as you can — especially with yourself."

Honesty is a trait that resonates deeply with Delevingne, who stressed that it is what she has always done and believes she has to embrace. She noted that the idea of perfection was false marketing, which is why she bares her soul publicly.

"Whether it's been being vocal about anxiety, depression, recovery, anything, it's just you owe it to people to talk about your struggles," Delevingne told Variety, adding:

Delevingne previously opened up about the positive impacts of her sobriety journey in 2023, as reported by The Blast. She noted that her decision to quit drinking helped her regain her mental stability, saying:

"It hasn't [been easy], but there have never been moments when I'm like, 'This isn't worth it.' It's been worth every second. just don't know what it would take for me to give it up. I am stable. I'm calmer."

The "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" actress also reflected on her past, noting she was in a bad place. However, coming clean about her struggles helped take the crushing weight off her chest.

"For a long time, I felt like I was hiding a lot from people who looked up to me. I finally feel as though I can be free and myself fully," Delevingne confessed. Additionally, she thanked her girlfriend, Minke, for helping with her sobriety journey, saying:

"Being with my girlfriend, in this relationship, there are just so many things that came at once that have made me so happy and comfortable with who I am."

As for what sparked her sobriety journey, Delevingne confessed that she got the needed wake-up call following a concerning video. The clip taken by paparazzi showed her looking distressed and disheveled as she wandered around barefoot at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles.

She repeatedly dropped her phone on the ground between conversations, seemingly unable to control her actions. Reflecting on this viral moment, Delevingne noted her erratic behavior was tied to the pandemic and her 30th birthday.

The 31-year-old model also revealed that her interest in alcohol began at a young age. She recalled having her first drink at seven after sneaking champagne at a family wedding.

Two months before her Met Gala appearance, The Blast reported that a terrifying fire had raged through Delevingne's Los Angeles home. The incident occurred in March while she was in England performing the musical "Cabaret" at the Playhouse Theater.

The fire reportedly began around 3:52 AM, while the call for help came in at about 3:57 AM PST. Firefighters subsequently rushed to the scene and realized that some type of backroom on the property had gone up in flames.

Delevingne addressed the situation on her Instagram Story, writing, "My heart is broken today… I cannot believe it. Life can change in the blink of an eye, so cherish what you have."

She wrote the message over a picture of her cats, causing fans to believe the pets had perished in the flames. However, Delevingne clarified the misunderstanding in another post, adding: "They are alive!! Thank you to the firefighters [red heart emoji]."

The Fire Caused Some Injuries

While Delevingne's cats escaped the fire unharmed, an emergency official wasn't as lucky. According to a source, the firefighter fell from a ladder and sustained some injuries while attempting to control the fire.

It was unclear how severe the firefighter's injuries were, but he wasn't the only victim. An occupant of Delevingne's home reportedly needed medical attention for smoke inhalation.

94 firefighters in 13 different fire trucks were at the scene to fight the blaze. Additionally, four ambulances were present to tackle medical emergencies.
