Royal expert Tom Quinn has revealed that Meghan's decision not to travel with Prince Harry to the UK was well received at Kensington Palace.

Speaking to The Mirror, Quinn said palace officials breathed a "huge sigh of relief" when it was confirmed that Harry would be making a solo visit.

Harry's trip on May 8 is to attend a service at St. Paul's Cathedral for the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently in California with their kids, Archie and Lilibet, celebrating the fifth birthday of their little prince.

According to Quinn, many Royal aides are happy that Meghan is skipping the UK portion and meeting Harry in Nigeria for their Royal visit afterward.

Quinn also revealed to the news outlet that amid the disconnect between Harry's family and the rest of the royals, King Charles is still trying to connect with his grandkids and is "desperate" for a good relationship with them.

However, the monarch is reportedly not a fan of "new technology" and is "uncomfortable" with making video calls.

He said, "If he makes an ordinary telephone call to Harry, it means he can have a quick word with Archie without the need to talk to Meghan."

Harry, Meghan, and Archie previously video-called the palace in April 2020 to wish the late Queen Elizabeth a happy 94th birthday.

After Harry and Meghan retired as senior royals in 2020, there was a disconnect between their family and the rest of the Royal family. Since then, the couple has addressed the conflict in multiple projects, which has caused an even bigger divide.

Before his UK trip this week, sources revealed that Harry was "very keen" to see his father. He and Charles have reportedly maintained "regular contact" after the monarch was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February this year.

As he receives treatment for the cancer, Charles has finally resumed his public duties and will be present at Buckingham Palace's first garden party on Wednesday.

The party and Harry's Invictus Games anniversary service are scheduled to conclude around 6 pm, giving father and son the opportunity to meet physically for the first time since February.

A source told The Sun, "It's clear he is keen to see his father as he continues his recovery, and most people expect another reunion of some kind next week."

William and Kate have been at loggerheads with Harry and Meghan after they were left feeling "betrayed" by revelations from Harry's 2023 memoir "Spare."

Both families have seemingly snubbed each other on occasions where they had been tipped to reunite and have not spoken with each other since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022.

However, a source recently told US Weekly that the Prince and Princess of Wales want a "truce" and are "open" to reconciling with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The source explained that William and Kate are considering mending their broken relationship with Harry and Meghan because of their children, as they don't want their feud to be passed on to "the next generation."

The source stated, "They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry, and they don't want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation."

The insider added that Meghan and Harry feel the same way: "Obviously, the Duke and Duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins."

After Harry's UK trip, he and Meghan will reportedly visit Nigeria. Social media users have shared that they're "overwhelmed with joy" for the visit and promised a warm welcome to the couple during their time in the country.

The visit comes two years after Meghan revealed that a genealogy test she did "a couple of years" ago revealed she is "43 percent Nigerian."

The Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when he met Harry at the last Invictus Games in Düsseldorf.

On X (formerly Twitter), one user shared their joy for the visit. They wrote, "Harry and Meghan are coming to Nigeria in May! We cannot wait to welcome them! And our good sis is coming home for the first time. We have been waiting since she discovered she's a daughter of the soil."
