Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly don't plan to meet with Prince Harry when he returns to the UK next week for the Invictus Games' 10th-anniversary event.

Harry's trip to the UK would be his first since February, when he visited King Charles upon his cancer diagnosis, and also since he got wind of Kate's cancer diagnosis.

As Harry's trip to the UK for his Invictus Games 10th-anniversary event draws close, the prospects of him seeing William and Kate have now been likened to near-impossible.

Harry made a frantic transatlantic dash in February to see King Charles upon learning of his cancer diagnosis. But at the time, he did not see the Waleses. However, it had been speculated that he would be seeing Kate upon his arrival in May, as this would be the first time he would be in the UK since her cancer diagnosis.

Unfortunately, this might not be the case, as a source close to William and Kate told the Daily Beast that they are uninterested in mending broken ties with the Duke of Sussex after he left them feeling "betrayed" with his blockbuster "Spare" memoir.

"Both sides understand each other's position clearly now," the source told the news outlet. "William and Catherine felt completely betrayed by Harry's memoir [Spare]."

"They don't speak to Harry and Meghan [Markle], and they are certainly not about to start when Catherine is at her most vulnerable," the insider added.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams previously told the U.S. Sun that the King had always "kept the door open to Harry" and that a potential face-to-face meeting between the father and son is not out of reach.

However, another source who spoke to the Daily Beast has now disclosed William's stance on the matter.

The source, reportedly a close friend of the brothers, revealed that William is indifferent about Harry and their father's reconciliation but that he remains adamant about shielding his family from "stressful situations."

Harry's good wishes on the verge of Kate's cancer diagnosis reportedly didn't translate into a breakthrough in their relationship, with the insider noting that the duke is "just another person who sold his story to the papers."

"A 'get well soon' message is neither here nor there," the tipster continued. "But the whole situation doesn't use up a huge amount of their mental energy anymore."

"William and Kate have accepted it and moved on. Cancer puts things in perspective. William respects his father's wish to reconcile with his son, but his focus now is on protecting his family from stressful situations," the source added.

According to reports, Harry will travel alone for his trip to the UK as Meghan is expected to stay back at their Montecito home with their children, especially as the trip comes two days after their son Prince Archie's fifth birthday.

Royal expert Fitzwilliams claimed that Meghan won't be accompanying Harry to the UK because she believes her involvement will overshadow the message of the celebration and that it was "obvious" the duchess would be met with a cloud of hostility from the royal family.

"I never thought that Meghan would come over because of the hostility towards her, but I mean, no one has to emphasize that it's hostile," he told the news outlet.

"And anyway, her attendance at the reception would overshadow the message of the service, and you wouldn't want that, as far as Harry is concerned," Fitzwilliams added.

Harry is expected to check into a hotel room for his stay in the UK, as the royal family has yet to offer him any of their residences.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will reportedly fly to Nigeria to take part in "traditional cultural activities" after Harry's UK Trip.

The trip to Nigeria comes after they accepted an invitation from the country's Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf.

According to the Daily Mail, Harry and Meghan's Nigerian visit has left the country's defense headquarters feeling "honored" and "delighted," especially as the former royals prepare to meet service members and their families.
