Prince William and Kate Middleton are seemingly considering extending an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for an emotional reason.
Ahead of Harry's trip to the UK on Wednesday, where he's expected to reunite with his father, King Charles, reports claimed that the warring brothers had no intention of seeing each other.
However, new developments suggest the future king is "open" to reconciling with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their children's sakes.
Prince William & Kate Middleton Are 'Open' To Reconciling With Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
William and Kate have been at loggerheads with Harry and Meghan after they were left feeling "betrayed" by revelations from Harry's 2023 memoir "Spare."
Both families have seemingly snubbed each other on occasions where they'd been tipped to reunite and have not spoken with each other since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022.
However, a source speaking to US Weekly revealed that the Prince and Princess of Wales want a "truce" and are "open" to reconciling with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The source explained that William and Kate are considering mending their broken relationship with Harry and his wife because of their children, as they don't want their feud to be passed on to the next generation.
"They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry, and they don't want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation," the source stated.
The insider added that Meghan and Harry feel the same way: "Obviously, the Duke and Duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins."
Prince Harry Will Reunite With King Charles During His UK Trip
Harry is set to fly to the UK for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games, which he launched in 2014 as an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.
On the trip, he's expected to meet with King Charles for the second time since the monarch's Cancer diagnosis became public.
Harry made a quick dash to the UK in February when Charles' cancer diagnosis was first announced and has reportedly been in contact with him since then.
According to The Sun, Charles and Harry will be near each other on Wednesday as they both attend separate events in London, which will end around the same time.
The Duke Is 'Keen To See His Father'
Charles is set to attend this year's first Buckingham Palace garden party from 4 pm that day. The party will close around 6 pm, paving the way for him to meet with Harry, whose Invictus event, held two miles away, finishes around the same time.
"Harry is normally 5,000 miles away in California but by happy coincidence, on Wednesday they will be just two miles apart," a source told the news outlet.
"It's clear he is keen to see his father as he continues his recovery and most people expect another reunion of some kind next week," they added.
Prince William & Prince Harry Unlikely To Meet Upon His Arrival
Despite the Prince and Princess of Wales' willingness to reconcile with Harry and his wife, they will likely not see each other when Harry enters the country next week.
According to reports, William will likely be away from London on Thursday as he has engagements in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly the next day.
A source told The Mirror that a potential meetup between the brothers will come slowly as their relationship "remains extremely fractured." The source added that Harry has "privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother, but now is not the time."
Will The Royal Feud Ever Come To An End?
Royal fans may soon be rejoicing about the end of the strained relationship between the senior royals as reports suggest Charles may extend an invitation to Harry's wife and children in the summer.
According to Page Six, a high-standing source previously revealed that the king may invite the former "Suits" actress to Balmoral Castle this summer to reunite with his grandchildren.
Charles has made it a culture to retreat to the Scottish countryside every year and is usually joined by senior royal members, including William and Kate, as well as his siblings.
"I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry," the source quipped. "He may decide that life is just too short."
"Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit," the tipster added.
