Just put "NYC Blanket Couple" in your TikTok search bar and tons of videos will pop up that show a shocking public scene.
Some are asking, "Where is a Karen when you need her?" and others are just minding their own business about the situation.
'NYC Blanket Couple' Has People Shocked About What They Are Doing In A Busy NYC Park
Multiple videos shared on TikTok show a shocking scene in the middle of the day at New York City's Battery Park.
We'll set the scene for you: a busy park in the middle of the day with adults and children hanging out, playing ball, or just walking through. Then there, right in the middle of all the action, a couple under a blanket appears to be doing the deed without a care in the world.
Some videos show the "action" and others show the couple just sitting on a blanket in the grass.
TikTok creator @Yahtz3e shared a quick view of the "blanket couple" and received more than 10.7 million views and 2,000 comments.
"Why did every single person there just watch," one person wrote in the comment section. Another viewer said, "Apparently there were multiple rounds. I just saw one where it was sunset."
Another TikTok Creator Shared A Different View Of The Now Infamous 'NYC Blanket Couple'
Another TikToker, @MarkBeshae also shared a video, but this one had a bit of an explanation.
"This couple in New York are going viral for being caught on camera doing it in public," he said. "So this video of a couple doing something funny in public was taken on Sunday and the whole internet is now after them for a couple of reasons."
The couple was reportedly under the blanket for hours in a very busy public park where families and children were hanging out enjoying the spring weather.
"Basically, the couple was in the middle of the park and everyone understood what was happening because it was very obvious. But this situation got so bad online that someone has actually released a video of what the couple looks like," he continued. "Now, they're most likely to get contacted by police because of how viral they've gone."
The TikToker said that in New York, people caught doing something like this in public are subjected to a fine of $250 and 15 days of jail time. He also said this type of behavior is nothing new in NYC.

And Then There's Another View...
The "Blanket Couple" definitely has people talking. Another viral video shows the couple in the act with a beautiful NYC sunset in the background before the TikTok creator shared her thoughts.
"As a New Yorker, does that surprise me? No. As a parent, as an educator, I'm like, oh my God, they need to be brought up on some tribunal. Did you not get taught better than that?" TikToker Amme said. "But then as a normal human being, am I the only one trying to figure out what position they're in?"
She said she's seen so many points of view and she has questions because none of it is making sense.
"Plus, the first time I saw the video, it was daylight," she continued. "This video is at night. That means they were out there all day long."
And Amme is not alone. Many other TikTokers have questions and have been stuck on "NYC Blanket People" TikTok.
"I fell deep in this rabbit hole," one person shared. Another said, "Thank you because everyone talking about how clear it is and I just can't figure out what position was all that??? I saw another POV with legs all over. I'm mad confused."
Can They 'Lie Their Way Out Of This?'
TikTok content creator Beck Berwick, also shared a video about the "Blanket Couple" that's gone viral with more than 8.5 million views.
"By now, lots of us have seen this couple referred to as the 'park couple' and what they were seemingly doing underneath the blanket in a busy New York City park in front of families and children," she said. "Some people have called for this couple to be arrested and charged as sex offenders because what they were doing was in public but I have a legal question."
She then pointed out that, "technically, we do not know for certain what they were doing." Although she said, "we know." But since we didn't actually see what they were doing under the blanket, can they actually be "charged with indecent exposure" or any "unlawful acts?"
Viewers Of Beck Berwick's Video Chatted About The Possibilities
Many viewers of Berwick's video dropped into the comment section to further chat about the situation.
"What I don't understand is why no one did anything or called the police? Instead, they all took videos," one person shared.
Another said, "I was thinking this exact same thing. Like what if they actually didn't do it and we're just acting like it to freak people out."
One viewer suggested, "Someone needed to run by and snag the blanket." Another added, "They can say we were doing modern dance minimalist immersive experience as part of an art exhibit in Soho next month."
