'CSI Miami' actor Evan Ellingson was found dead from an accidental fentanyl overdose on November 5, 2023.
His autopsy report, which was just released and obtained by The Blast, reveals what happened leading up to his overdose.
Evan Ellingson Was A Recovering Heroin Addict
According to the documents obtained by The Blast, the late actor was a recovering heroin addict, and his official cause of death was listed as fentanyl and para-fluoro fentanyl toxicity.
On Sunday, November 5, 2023, Evan Taylor Ellingson's girlfriend came to pick him up for church, however, "he never responded to her telephone calls or texts" she sent, according to the docs. Around 11:30 a.m., Evan's housemate, Adam, found Evan on the floor of his bedroom, not breathing, unresponsive, and cool to the touch. He then called 911.
As The Blast has previously reported, "SBCFD had previously responded to the location for a subject not breathing and upon arrival, they requested our assistance. Once on scene, a 35-year-old white male was found deceased in his bedroom. His pronounced time of death was 1137 hours. There were no obvious signs of foul play."
When AMR paramedics arrived six minutes later, they confirmed the actor was deceased, and his face "appeared purple in color," per the documents obtained by The Blast.

Evan got his start at 13 on the soap opera General Hospital, but in 2009, he starred in My Sister’s Keeper alongside Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin, and Abigail Breslin.
Following his death, Breslin broke her silence, saying, "Evan Ellingson was a kind, funny, and extremely talented human being. He played my big brother in a film I did called 'My Sister's Keeper.'"
She added, "Evan was a genuinely thoughtful person who cared so much about turning in the best performance, which he accomplished. Some of his scenes in MSK still give me chills. He was also silly, funny, a prankster, a lover of Red Bull (I hated the smell of Red Bull ?) and he was energetic and the life of the party."
"I didn’t keep in touch a lot with him after the film, but he always stayed in my mind as a wonderful and sweet soul, one I am grateful to have crossed paths with," the actress added. "My prayers and condolences are with his family at this difficult time."
