Julia Fox is getting candid about how her relationship with Kanye West came with a heavy price for her. Fox claimed that dating West came with a series of internal turmoil and eventually left her "scarred."
She decided not to date any other celebrity so publicly as she did with the rapper, noting that she doesn't want "to just be known" as the other party's girlfriend.
Julia Fox Says She Was Left 'Scarred' By Romance With Kanye West
In a recent conversation with Stellar Magazine, the "Uncut Gems" star lamented how her relationship with the "Vultures" rapper left her wounded and said that she wouldn't make it a point to date another celebrity so openly.
Fox seemingly insinuated that she's not looking to get into a relationship anytime soon, claiming men are "an obstacle I have to get through."
"What I find happens so often in public relationships – at least what happened to me, and maybe I'm just scarred from it – is that you become known as that person's girlfriend," the 34-year-old actress said.
She went on, "And I just don't want to uphold that. I want to be able to make it on my own. I don't want anyone to be able to attribute my success to a man in my life."
"If anything, men are an obstacle I have to get through. It has never helped me," Fox added, per the DailyMail.
She Hates Being Labeled As Kanye West's Ex-Girlfriend
In an interview with InStyle, she decried that her relationship with West has brought on a label that she isn't comfortable with, as she is constantly referred to as one of the rapper's ex-girlfriends.
She disclosed that dating the "Donda" rapper "for a month," and the attention that came with it has left a "sour taste in" her "mouth about dating anyone in this sphere."
"I don't ever want to just be known as someone's girlfriend. I know I'm so much more than that. And I feel like that happens so much to women in this industry," Fox stated.
She continued, "They're only as good as their partner, or they can make a whole career off being some guy's partner. But regardless, either way, it becomes their identity."
The Model Wants To 'Break The Mold'
The Italian-American beauty went further to share that she'll not be settling for such tags and is on the lookout to "break that mold."
"I feel like I have to transcend that, and I want to break that mold, and I want to just stand on my own two feet and not need a man to back me," she explained.
"I did that for years. I'm good. I have established myself, and I want to keep establishing myself. And maybe one day I'll even be taken seriously," Fox added.
Julia Fox Says 'Ignorance Is Bliss'
The "No Sudden Move" actress also weighed in on being famous, disclosing that she doesn't Google herself because it gives her "so much anxiety" as it's mostly filled with "bulls--t" that'll force her to become reactive.
"It's better if I just don't look at it because then it's shots fired—now I have to retaliate... What you don't know can't hurt you. Ignorance is bliss. I don't know what's going on over there," she shared.
Unlike Fox, West has yet to speak about their relationship and has since moved on with his wife, Bianca Censori.
Julia Fox And Kanye West's Relationship Ended On 'Bad Terms'
Before the 2023 release of her memoir "Down The Drain," Fox gave fans a peep into what her relationship with the "Jesus is King" rapper looks like, revealing that it ended on "bad terms."
In a conversation with the New York Times at the time, she noted that their romance "wasn't really about" sex "because there, like, wasn't any," and went on to share how it all went down the drain.
She recounted how West ignored her at her birthday party in 2022 before allegedly texting her, "If you loved me, you would support me," and then called her after speaking with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
West claimed that he "discovered a lot of information" about Fox, including being a "drug addict," to which she allegedly replied, "Maybe if you listened more. And not to mention, so were you!"
Fox then proceeded to break up with him, claiming in her memoir that the Yeezy designer then called and texted her demanding she signed an NDA.
He allegedly texted her, "I can't be friends with you if you don't sign it," to which Fox replied, "I'll live."
