Tiffany Haddish is well-known for her comedic side; however, she skipped the jokes for a vulnerable conversation about her fertility struggles.

Ahead of her tell-all memoir, "I Curse You With Joy," Haddish sat down for a heart-to-heart discussion about a topic highlighted in her book — her reproductive health and how it has repeatedly broken her heart.

"I'm pretty sure the devil is real because the first day of my period, no matter what, the devil goes into overdrive. I feel like my life gets turned upside down," she explained, noting that she suffered from painful periods for years.

However, doctors, until recently, had failed to diagnose the problem as endometriosis — leaving the poor actress to suffer several fertility issues. Even though she wasn't trying to have a baby, she stressed to PEOPLE that she never tried to terminate her pregnancies, saying:

Haddish, who was married once and last linked to the rapper Common, is currently abstaining from sex. However, she claimed to be dating "multiple guys," but none of these men have tempted her to get married again or become a mother.

Although she is currently practicing celibacy, the TV personality hasn't given up on motherhood. "There is a part of me that wants to," she said about the possibility, adding, "I've got all this love; I should give it to somebody who can grow with it."

Nonetheless, her battle with endometriosis has made the experience "so f-cking frustrating" for Haddish, who experienced her eighth miscarriage last year. Recalling the heartbreaking event, she said:

As stated, Haddish experienced her eighth miscarriage last year and addressed the tragic loss in an emotional interview. The Blast shared that she noted the problem was with her reproductive organ, saying:

"I've got a uterus shaped like a heart. It just won't keep anything in."

As for why she stayed silent through eight miscarriages, the comedian confessed that she liked to deal with her problems alone. In her words: "Like a wounded animal, I just rather go in a cave by myself. Lick my wounds."

Haddish, like her recent interview, addressed motherhood with uncertainty but expressed an interest in adoption. She stated that she had been taking parenting classes to prepare for the process; however, she was still indecisive about embracing the transition.

This wasn't the first time adoption had come up, as the actress previously shared her thoughts on it in a 2021 interview. She explained that she would like to adopt an older child, from five years and upwards, saying:

"I want to get somebody that … already knows how to use the restroom, already knows how to talk, already knows how to communicate. All I want to do is pour knowledge in … [and] get them ready for the big, bad world."

Haddish is partial to adoption, as she was in the foster care system as a child. She noted: "I really wanted to be a foster parent, but because I'm at a certain level of success, my lawyer suggested that it's probably best to just adopt, and I'm on that process now."

While her future as a mother remains uncertain, Haddish won't have to worry about not drinking to avoid a miscarriage. The Blast revealed she had (picked up sobriety following her DUI arrest)in November 2023 — a milestone she celebrated in March.

During an appearance on "The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet," the comedian shared that she has been sober for over two months since her encounter with the law, confessing:

"I haven't drank any alcohol, smoked any weed, or anything in like 72 days. It's not hard. It's not that hard."

However, being sober wasn't entirely her idea but a court mandate. Haddish not only had to abstain from alcohol but also submit to driving alcohol tests — but if she does have a reason to celebrate, "[I'm] gonna have a shot of vodka for that," she declared.
