Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," has reignited her feud with reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
The singer seemingly dissed Kardashian on the track "thanK you aIMee." The women's feud stems from Kanye West's 2016 song "Famous," in which he called Swift a "b-tch" and a phone call that Kardashian allegedly edited.
Kim Kardashian Is Reportedly 'Over' Feud With Taylor Swift
Swift's latest album has stirred up old tensions between her and Kardashian as fans speculate that "thanK you aIMee," one of the tracks on the double album was aimed at the SKIMS founder.
In the track "thanK you aIMee," Swift addresses experiences with bullying, leading fans to assume its possible connection to Kardashian, especially considering the capitalization of the letters K, I, and M in the title.
In the chorus, Swift reflected on her experience of enduring punches, singing: "All that time you were throwin' punches, I was buildin' somethin' / And I can't forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed 'F--k you, Aimee' to the night sky, as the blood was gushin'/ But I can't forget the way you made me heal."
Swift also hints at removing "any real defining clues" of the individual.
However, a source close to Kardashian told People magazinethat the reality star is "over it and thinks Taylor should move on."
The tipster added that Kardashian "doesn't get why [Swift] keeps harping on it," as "It's been literally years."
What Caused Kim Kardashian And Taylor Swift's Feud?
The feud between Swift and Kardashian started in 2016 after Kanye West's song "Famous" included derogatory lyrics about Swift, claiming she approved them.
However, the popstar denied prior knowledge of the explicit lyrics, with a spokesperson asserting that Swift said she was "never made aware of the actual lyric - 'I made that b-tch famous."
Kardashian, who was married to the "Donda" rapper at the time, supported her husband and released an allegedly edited footage of a phone call between West and Swift. However, the phone call did not mention the controversial line.
During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" in 2019, Kardashian claimed they have "all moved on." However, in an interview with Elle, Swift hinted at lingering hurt from the incident, stating: "It would be nice if we could get an apology from people who bully us, but maybe all I'll ever get is the satisfaction of knowing I could survive it, and thrive in spite of it."
She also brought up the matter again during her Person of the Year interview with Time Magazine in 2023, claiming that West and Kim tried to destroy her career.
Kim Kardashian Loses 100,000 Followers After Taylor Swift's Diss Track
Since Swift released her diss track on her new album, "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology," Kardashian has seen a significant drop in followers, losing over 100,000 and counting.
Last month, her Instagram boasted 364.3 million followers, but as of Monday, it had plummeted to 363 million. Swift's fans, known as Swifties, also flooded Kardashian's Instagram comments with mentions of the song "thanK you aIMee" and demanded that the mother of four apologize to the singer.
One wrote, "You should've apologized when Kris had asked you to. Always listen to your mom Kim, learn from Kylie."
"Finally, someone stood up to Aimee," a second person added. "Kim went radio silent. For once, she's off the internet. This is hilarious."
"We wanna know what your thoughts are on 'thank you, Aimee,'" a fourth questioned.
Fans Slam Kim Kardashian For Not Addressing The Diss Track On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
During her recent appearance on Monday's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Kardashian notably avoided any mention of Swift's song "thanK you aIMee" or the track "Cassandra," which also seems to reference their ongoing feud.
Noticing this, Swifties took to the comments to express their disappointment over the lack of questions regarding the diss tracks.
"Why not ask her about the Taylor Swift song that North will be singing!" one asked. Another added: "Jimmy, I'm 100 percent sure you weren't allowed to speak or ask questions about Taylor or TTPD, but you could have [at] least 'slipped up' a couple of times and called her aIMee."
