'The Office' Cast Reunites With A New Business Venture
If you've missed seeing the cast of "The Office" you're in luck! While they aren't selling paper, they are selling something. Well, sort of!
In a new AT&T ad shared on YouTube, a few of the former Dunder Mifflin crew, acting as themselves, launch a fictional new business called "Sleep With Rain," a pillow with speakers that features Wilson's voice.
"For years, my voice has been putting people to sleep - my mom, my wife, my therapist, so I decided to cash in," Wilson said in the video.
Then Robinson, who played Darryl Philbin in "The Office," walks in and asks Wilson if he's ready for the product launch, to which the CEO of the new product declares, "I'm ready!"
Next up is the social media manager, Fischer, who played Pam Beesley in the show. She walks in with balloons and says, "Happy launch day."
Also starring in the ad, Flannery, who played Meredith Palmer, Baumgartner, who played Kevin, and Bratton, who played Creed.
Brian Baumgartner And Creed Bratton Shared Some Insight Into The New Business Venture
Baumgartner and Bratton enjoyed their time being reunited on set with some of their fellow "Office" castmates and shared some insight exclusively with The Blast.
"Anytime Rainn does anything, the rest of us follow. When he decided to create this business, 'Dream with Rainn,' aka 'Sleep with Rain,' we all felt like we wanted to sleep with Rainn," Baumgartner told The Blast with a laugh.
"We decided to join, and myself personally, there's nothing that I do better than nothing, than sleep, so I felt like I was an integral part of helping create this business. When Rainn says jump, we all say how high?"
Bratton jumped in to share that he's also a "champion sleeper."
"A pillow with speakers in it with Rainn's voice?" Bratton said, "Sign me up, I'm in!"
It's 'Been A While' Since This Many Of The Cast Got Together!
Just as any "Office" fan would expect, chatting with Baumgartner and Bratton was like a mini-comedy show. When asked how it was seeing so many cast members after so many years of not being together, Bratton quickly joked, "Well other than Brian, it was really great seeing everyone."
"It's fun because we haven't seen each other in a long time. Although, I've seen Brian quite a bit, actually," he said. "We got together, we joked around, we got to work on a great fun project and got free pillows."
Baumgartner explained that while "The Office" crew has a couple of text chains and group texts going, it was great being back in their "work environment."
"It's been nine, 10 years, whatever it's been, and the first thing, we're all in a room together like the old days and we lay down on a giant conference table and put our heads like three inches apart and speak to each other in that way," Baumgartner said about shooting the AT&T Business ad. "Well, and Creed's sleeping."
He said that while they weren't playing their characters from the show, they were versions of themselves and it was fun to be able to "banter again" and "be back together."
Bratton jumped in to add, "You just got right back on the bicycle with these folks. Our time was always really good together. It was effortless really."
Brian Baumgartner And Creed Bratton Had A Lot Of Fun Shooting 'The Office'
When the popular series began, no one could really predict just how popular it would be. And even now, many years after the series ended, fans are rewatching seasons over and over.
"I knew from our second episode, which was 'Diversity Day,' that they had created a world and were talking about topics that hadn't been done in years. The idea of a comedy dealing with race, there were other shows at the time that were talking about important topics but those were all dramas. For a comedy to be dealing with complicated, sensitive social issues in a really authentic way, I was tremendously proud," Baumgartner said.
"We didn't have a laugh track. The camera was moving around, so it was so unlike anything that was on mainstream network television. We were like we just hope people give us a chance because we were having so much fun playing together."
While The World Binges 'The Office,' What Are Brian Baumgartner And Creed Bratton Binging?
While many fans are watching and rewatching "The Office" or even just putting it on their TV for background noise, Bratton is busy watching some new shows.
He said he's been watching "Shogun," "The New Look" and "The Regime."
Baumgartner on the other hand, has been binge-watching "The Sopranos" again and watching "Palm Royale."
"It's been a little bit of time now but I did go back and watch 'The Office' from start to finish," Baumgartner said. "There really weren't any bad episodes. There were spectacular ones, in my opinion, but it was really fun to go back and watch it again."
And Bratton pointed out that "The Office" is something that many people rewatch for comfort.
"It's not only the enjoyment and the comedy, it's the healing aspect of it," he said. "When people are going through troubled times and they're falling apart, they don't think they're gonna make it, and our show restores faith or comfort. It's a marvelous thing."
Baumgartner said that he's heard many people put "The Office" on to go to sleep.
"The number of people that say they put it on when they go to sleep, they put it on at night to go to sleep, which I think is why AT&T Business coming to us with 'Dream with Rainn' to put people to sleep, to help them even further to go to sleep. It's a win-win."
Bratton, not missing a beat, jumped in to add, "I used to put on voicemails from my second wife to go to sleep. That really helped a lot. That's just me."
