Gypsy Rose Blanchard's estranged husband has responded to her request for a restraining order by filing one of his own.

Both filings come less than two years after Blanchard and Ryan Anderson had a small prison wedding ceremony on July 21, 2022, in Livingston County, Missouri.

Ryan Anderson Slaps Gypsy Rose Blanchard With A Restraining Order

UPDATE: People magazine has rescinded its previous report that Ryan Anderson sought a restraining order against Blanchard on Thursday, April 11. Previously, People had erroneously reported that Anderson, 37, had filed a restraining order, but the Lafourche Parish courts told People on Wednesday morning that Anderson had not done so.

Blanchard, on the other hand, filed for a restraining order on Monday, April 8, coinciding with her divorce filing.  She is pursuing both temporary and permanent spousal support, citing Anderson's fault in the marriage dissolution and requesting that he not receive any support.

The court is scheduled to make a ruling on May 23. Notably, the former couple have been physically separated since March 25 and have lived apart since.

Just before her parole and subsequent release in December 2023, Blanchard and Anderson shared the story of their initial encounter with PEOPLE.

As Anderson explained, he chose to correspond with his now-estranged wife after a colleague's newfound fascination with penning letters to Joseph Allen Maldonado, famously recognized as "Joe Exotic," in 2020.

"'Tiger King' was really popular at the time. 'I'll tell you what. If you write him, I'll write Gypsy Rose Blanchard.' I never thought she'd be my wife," the 37-year-old recounted.

Despite the duo's enthusiasm about starting their lives together, Blanchard's father, Rod, voiced concerns about their relationship.

In a separate interview, he claimed that his daughter "can be spontaneous and make a quick decision and just jump into things without thinking." Ultimately, Rod gave the union "a 50/50 chance that it's going to work."

She concluded her statement by asserting, "I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am."

In the aftermath of the announcement, a member of Blanchard's inner circle came forward alleging that she and Anderson had an intense argument.

The blowout supposedly resulted in her leaving her marital home to live with her father. Spilling the tea on the fight, the ex-convict's friend, Nadiya Vizier, expressed:

"He got in her face and screamed. Gypsy said that she was afraid he was going to hit her. He didn't — but that happened in the past with her mother. So, her first instinct was to tighten up and be prepared."

Vizier added that Blanchard "got to safety and called her lawyer, too. Ryan is a big guy, and she told me it was really scary."

The Blast reported that Blanchard's inner circle members recently offered more insight into the alleged argument, declaring that it was due to Anderson's hoarding tendencies.

According to the informants, Blanchard was unaware of her ex's habit of hoarding food before they moved in together following her release from prison.

As it turned out, the 32-year-old was particularly bothered by the state of Anderson's refrigerator, which was stocked with numerous expired food items needing disposal.

Consequently, she took it upon herself to clean out the fridge while her former partner was away. However, when he returned and saw the emptied fridge, Anderson reacted negatively, sparking the aforementioned argument.

Sources asserted that Anderson's intense response left Blanchard feeling shaken. Additionally, she found it alarming that he became so upset over the previous contents of a refrigerator.

Besides this issue, the exes are said to have clashed over other matters, including Blanchard's struggle with Anderson's snoring, which significantly disrupted her sleep.
