Mariah Carey Calls in Sick for 'The Star' Premiere

Mariah Carey was noticeably absent from Sunday's big premiere for the animated film, "The Star," and it was an upset stomach that kept her away.

A rep for Mariah tells The Blast the singer came down with a stomach flu last week and had to cancel her red carpet appearance. We're told Mariah's people reached out to Sony on Friday to tell them she wouldn't be able to make it.

Sources involved in planning her appearance tell The Blast that Mariah was supposed to play a big role in the premiere.

We reached out to Sony for comment — so far, no word back.

Carey was very excited about the film, and her song in it, as demonstrated in the bizarre Facebook Live video she posted (and later deleted) last month.
