Morgan Wallen threw a chair from the sixth floor of a Nashville bar after allegedly finding out his ex had married another man.
As you probably have heard by now, the 'Last Night' singer was arrested late Sunday, April 7, and booked early Monday, April 8 for three counts of reckless endangerment after he threw a chair from the sixth floor of Eric Church's new honky tonk on Broadway.
The chair landed just feet away from police officers.
Morgan Wallen Arrested For Reckless Endangerment
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Morgan Wallen was booked early Monday, April 8 on three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief's Bar Sunday night.
His attorney, Worrick Robinson, released a statement: "At 10:53 pm Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities."
Morgan Wallen Was Allegedly Upset About His Ex
According to sources who spoke to DailyMail, Wallen was allegedly upset after finding out his ex-girlfriend, Katie 'KT' Smith, eloped with another man, Luke Scornavacco, on April 3. The marriage came just five days after they got engaged.
"KT's marriage to Luke last week just crushed him," the source claims. "Of course, he knew they were engaged and eventually going to get married - but eloping just days after they got engaged?"
Morgan Wallen dated Katie “KT” Smith for three years before their split in 2019.
Morgan Wallen Reportedly Never Got Over KT Smith
"Morgan has never gotten over her, even though he couldn't stay faithful to her. And now another man is going to be raising his son," the source added. Wallen and Smith share a son, Indigo, whom they welcomed in 2020.
"Whatever happened at that bar had to be reality hitting him in the face over losing the love of his life," the source continued.
Wallen's attorney nor Wallen himself have commented on these recent claims.
Morgan Wallen Was Also Arrested In 2020
This isn't the first time Wallen has found himself in legal trouble. In 2020, the 'Whiskey Glasses' singer was arrested for disorderly conduct. Following the arrest, he owned up to his behavior.
"Hey, y'all just wanted to clear the air. I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other," he wrote in a social media post at the time. "We didn't mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected."
Wallen has yet to comment on the recent arrest that happened Sunday, April 7.
Morgan Wallen Shunned For Using Racial Slur
In 2021, Morgan Wallen received backlash after he was caught using the n-word on video. He later addressed the controversy, claiming, “There’s no excuse. I’ve never made an excuse. I never will make an excuse. I’ve talked to a lot of people, heard stories [about] things that I would have never thought about because I wasn’t the one going through it."
Adding, "And I think, for me, in my heart, I was never that guy that people were portraying me to be, so there was a little bit of like, ‘D-mn, I’m kind of actually mad about this a little bit because I know I shouldn’t have said this, but I’m really not that guy.’ I put myself in just such a sh-t spot, you know? Like, ‘You really messed up here, guy.’"
'If I was that guy, then I wouldn’t have cared. I wouldn’t have apologized. I wouldn’t have done any of that if I really was that guy that people were saying about me," he concluded.
Morgan Wallen's Comeback
Despite being arrested and shunned for using a racial slur, Wallen has had quite the year as he took home the Country Music Association Awards New Artist of the Year award and won Best New Country Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Hit single, 'Last Night' broke the record for "the lengthiest reigning song by a solo artist at the summit of this iconic music chart," per Hank FM. Plus, his third studio album, 'One Thing At A Time', broke a record when it hit its 19th consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album now holds the record for the most weeks at No. 1 by a country album.
