Cara Delevingne Is Allegedly 'Struggling' After $7M Home Burnt Down: 'There's A Big Worry'

The fire, caused by an electrical issue, consumed her home while she was in London. The actress has spoken about the sad incident, expressing gratitude for the firefighters' efforts.

Last month, a devastating fire engulfed Cara Delevingne's $7 million Los Angeles residence, and friends of the "Suicide Squad" actress are now concerned about the toll this trauma might take on her well-being, with worries that she could potentially relapse into self-destructive behaviors.

According to an insider, Delevingne is "totally devastated," and her "only solace is that her two beloved cats were saved, but she's still struggling."

"There's a big worry that the stress of this could push her back to her self-destructive behaviors," a source told The National Enquirer (via Radar Online).

However, other sources reassure that Delevingne is coping well, acknowledging her recent stellar performance in portraying Sally Bowles in the highly anticipated production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in the Playhouse Theatre.

"She's been doing really well, but there's no denying this sort of stress can be a huge trigger for a relapse," the source said. "Her loved ones are doing all they can to make sure she stays on the straight and narrow."

The devastating fire, which was caused by an electrical issue, happened while Delevingne was away in London. Fanned by strong winds, the flames quickly engulfed the 6,650-square-foot home, causing the roof to collapse and leaving behind a haunting scene of charred wreckage.

Delevingne's mother, Pandora Delevingne, lamented the loss, noting that the house held Delevingne's entire life.

"She had everything in her house her whole life. She built it, she made it. She has everything in it," Pandora said.

After finding out about the fire, the "Carnival Row" star took to Instagram to express her sadness over the sudden turn of events.

"My heart is broken today," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye, so cherish what you have."

Despite the tragedy, relief flooded in as news arrived that her beloved cats had been rescued from the inferno. Delevingne expressed immense gratitude to the 94 firefighters who showed up to help put out the fire for their heroic efforts.

"They are alive!! Thank you to the firefighters," she wrote. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the firefighters and people who showed up to help....."

In a candid interview with Vanity Fair, Delevingne disclosed her decision to seek professional help after a challenging period last year.

Reflecting on paparazzi images taken of her outside Van Nuys Airport following her return from Burning Man, she realized the toll her lifestyle had taken on her well-being.

"It's heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point it was like, 'Okay, I don't look well.' You know, sometimes you need a reality check, so in a way, those pictures were something to be grateful for," she said.

The "Life in a Year" actress also revealed that she was initially resistant to interventions from concerned friends, but she eventually acknowledged the need for support and therapy, noting: "If you're not face-first on the floor and ready to get up again, you won't. At that point, I really was."

She added, "From September, I just needed support. I needed to start reaching out. And my old friends I've known since I was 13, they all came over and we started crying. They looked at me and said, 'You deserve a chance to have joy.'"

Recognizing the importance of consistent self-care, she checked herself into rehab.

She opened up about embracing the journey towards healing and acceptance, noting: "I always thought that the work needs to be done when the times are bad, but actually the work needs to be done when they're good. The work needs to be done consistently. It's never going to be fixed or fully healed, but I'm okay with that, and that's the difference."

During the conversation, Delevingne also shared her commitment to a more sustained approach to healing, embracing the 12-step program for its depth and sense of community.

She acknowledged past tendencies for quick fixes, stating: "Before, I was always into the quick fix of healing, going to a weeklong retreat or to a course for trauma, say, and that helped for a minute, but it didn't ever really get to the nitty-gritty, the deeper stuff."

At the time, the cover girl revealed she prioritizes manageable changes, focusing on self-care essentials like outdoor time, regular meals, and consistent yoga and meditation practices.

While longing for instant results is natural, Delevingne recognizes the value of gradual progress and deeper self-discovery, admitting, "It doesn't happen overnight."

She explained: "Of course I want things to be instant—I think this generation especially, we want things to happen quickly—but I've had to dig deeper."
