Frankie Muniz Drops Bombshell Accusation Against 'Malcom In The Middle' Crew

Following the docuseries 'Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV', former child star Frankie Muniz is revealing his experience when on 'Malcom In The Middle'.

Muniz, who also starred in an episode of 'Lizzie McGuire' and in the film 'Big Fat Lies', when he was younger. Now, he is revealing what the environment was like when he was in Hollywood.

Muniz appeared on the Australian edition of 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here', where he dropped a bombshell about the crew behind 'Malcom In The Middle', including the one time he walked off set.

“There were two episodes I’m not in. I walked off the set,” he revealed according to News.AU before saying "certain people" created a toxic environment on the sitcom's set, leading to cast and crew being scared of them.

“Everyone was so afraid to stand up when certain people were controlling or rude or disrespectful. Like they walked on pins and needles,” he said. “I was so mortified by seeing people afraid to stand up for themselves, I was like: ‘Say something’."

He continued, “I didn’t care if they told me I was never going back, because it was worth it to me. It helped that the show was based around me.”

Last week, the former child star opened up about his Hollywood days, admitting he "never felt like [he] fully fit in the Hollywood world, even though [he] was in the world."

"I was nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes, and I was going to all this stuff, and I was there, and I was like, how am I here?" he told News AU.

Adding, "I hated LA, so I kind of stayed in my own little world, my own little bubble. And moving to Arizona, I did it on a whim, and I realized immediately that I started looking up. I started enjoying looking at trees and birds in the sky. Going to the grocery store was a fun thing. You don’t get that in LA. It’s a miserable experience."

Last year, Muniz dropped the bombshell that he never had drugs and never took a sip of alcohol.

"There's times where I think back at the things I got to do when I was a child actor or… my early years of being an adult," he told Mayim Bialik on her podcast, "and having stepped away from the entertainment world, from that business, kind of in the height of my career, like right when ['Malcom in the Middle'] ended... It allowed me to have a greater appreciation for life in general."

He went on to say, "Little things, as dumb as it sounds, of like moving to Scottsdale in 2008, I think saved my life. I'm 38. I've still never had a sip of alcohol. I've never done drugs. I've never done anything. So I don't mean in that sense… of like, 'Oh, I’m gonna go off the deep end' like so many child actors do. I meant, I realized when I moved [out of Hollywood], that I started looking up… This is so cheesy… but like I look at the sky. I looked at the trees."

Muniz starred as the titular character of 'Malcolm in the Middle' for seven seasons alongside Amanda Bynes.

There have been allegations and accusations regarding former Nickelodeon producer and creator Dan Schneider, many of which were told in the docuseries 'Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV'.

Allegations of inappropriate behavior and treatment of young actors were made, including verbal abuse and creating a toxic work environment. In March 2018, Nickelodeon announced that they had ended their working relationship with Schneider, but they did not provide specific reasons for the decision.

After the docuseries aired, Dan Schneider sat down with former ‘iCarly’ actor BooG!E, where he said he “faced my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret, I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”

In the docuseries, ‘Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV’, Drake Bell came forward, telling viewers for the first time that he was a victim of s-xual abuse at the hands of former vocal coach Brian Peck.

“[Brian Peck] pretty much worked his way into every aspect of my life,” Bell said in the docuseries. “I knew that my life was going to be absolutely going to be completely different from that point on."
