Carrie Fisher's Estate Settles Debts for Late Star as Billie Lourd Receives All Future 'Star Wars' Royalties

Billie Lourd will be feeling the force of her mother in more ways than one, because alongside sharing scenes with her in the upcoming "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," the daughter of Carrie Fisher will be collecting checks for both of their roles.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, the executor of Fisher's estate just filed to show that all administrative tasks of the estate have been completed, and they are ready for the final distribution of the estate.
The documents state that Fisher's estate was appraised last July with a value of $6,773,704.96.
The executor also writes that "All debts and expenses Of administration of the Estate, including legal advertising, bond premiums and probate referee fees, have been paid."
Lourd, who is the sole beneficiary of the Carrie Fisher Living Trust, is also set to collect all the future "Star Wars" earnings for anything related to Princess Leia.
The document notes that, "Any and all past or future proceeds, payments or residuals that may be attributable to Fisher or to any of her works or performances, or relating in any way to the use, publication or distribution of the name, signature, image, likeness, photograph, voice, or elements of Fisher’s personality, be transferred and assigned to the Trust, and considered an asset of the Trust."
Fisher, who died December 27, 2016, days after going into cardiac arrest on an airplane, has still been a major part of the "Star Wars" universe since her passing.
In 2017 she appeared in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," having already wrapped her role before death. It was also announced last year that Fisher will appear in "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" through the use of unseen footage filmed during "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi."
Most recently, J.J. Abrams revealed that Lourd's character, Lt. Connix, and Fisher will actually appear in an emotional scene together. The director said that emotions were running high during production, and Lourd needed to excuse herself several times between takes.
"The Rise of Skywalker" premieres December 20.
