Jimmy Darts Surprised Joey Passamano With 'The Greatest Day'

What started out as an average day for Joey Passamano ended with an epic story to tell.

The Austin, TX resident who was having a slow day at work, was greeted by a man asking for help. He didn't think twice before helping him, which in turn helped him have "the greatest day of my life."

When Passamano was approached by a man asking for money because he ran out of gas, he had no idea how quickly his day was going to turn around for the better.

A now viral video shared on TikTok and Instagram shares the experience.

"Sorry to bother you, bro. My car ran out of gas down the street. I'm trying to get to the gas station," the man said to Passamano. "You don't have an extra buck, do you?"

Little did Passamano know, but the man asking for cash is the popular content creator and social media personality, Jimmy Darts. Darts is know for gifting kind people with cash and event tickets, and Passamano was about to get both.

After being asked for some money, Passamano happily handed Darts the only money he made so far that day, $3. As he was about to search for more money, Darts told him don't worry and struck up a conversation about the San Antonio Spurs, because Passamano was wearing a Spurs hat.

Passamano told Darts that he wanted to go to the game that night but tickets were too expensive. That's when Darts then handed Passamano $1,000 in cash.

"You can have your cash back. I was seeing the first person to help me out," Darts said. Passamano looking shocked then said, "That made my day, bro."

But little did he know, there was more excitement headed his way.

If $1,000 wasn't enough of a surprise, the next gift was a bigger surprise.

Darts then handed Passamano an envelope that contained a card that explained he was going to the Spurs game that night! And he wouldn't be sitting in your average upper-level seat. Darts gave him courtside seats!

Passamano then showed Darts his Spurs tattoo before the video switches to showing Passamano at the game.

Many viewers of the TikTok video talked about Darts' kindness in the comment section.

"Jimmy's kindness strikes again!" one person wrote. Another added, "Jimmy never fails to find the right person."

While some viewers wondered if the video was scripted or if Passamano knew it was Darts that he was dealing with, he shares the full story exclusively with The Blast.

"I had seen Jimmy Darts videos maybe a couple times on YouTube shorts when they popped up, but never knew what he looked like. I had seen videos similar where people get rewarded randomly but always thought at least half of them were fake or the person never really received anything," Passamano told The Blast.

"I was having a super slow day at work the day Jimmy came. Had only made one Venmo payment and one $3 cash tip. I also was pretty bummed I wasn’t going to the Spurs game in my hometown and right down the road from where I was working. Not to mention, it was super humid and nasty looking outside. Needless to say, it was not a great day before Jimmy showed up."

Passamano's first thought when Darts handed him the cash was that it couldn't be real. He said he texted his fiancée about 15 minutes prior to Darts showing up and explained that he was "having a bad day" and probably wouldn't be making a lot of money that day.

Then Darts showed up and asked him for money to get gas.

"I decided to help him out because he said he was stranded, and I’ve been there before so I wanted to help him out, especially if it only meant throwing him a few bucks to get where he needed to be," Passamano said. "Plus he said he was going to the Spurs game, so always gotta help a fellow fan."

There's no doubt that being handed $1,000 changed Passamano's entire day around. But then the "cherry on top" was being able to go to the NBA game he said he wanted to go to.

"Being courtside at the game was an incredible experience. I will probably never get the opportunity again, so it’s most likely a once in a lifetime experience as well," Passamano told The Blast. "I’ve been to over 30 games at least in my life but have never even been somewhat close to where I was that day."

Passamano said the whole experience was memorable and he hopes that his story inspires other people to do random acts of kindness, even if they don't get anything from it.
