Viral TikTok creator Jimmy Darts, who's known for his random acts of kindness, partnered with Burlington Stores to surprise some back-to-school shoppers in an amazing way.
Unknowing shoppers couldn't have expected what would happen when Jimmy approached them while they were doing some back-to-school shopping. In one video, he asks a shopper if he would rather have $100 for himself or pass along $1,000 to a family in the store for back-to-school shopping. And in another video, Jimmy asks a mom shopping with her kids if she would give him a dollar. What happens next in both videos is the feel-good moment we all love to experience!
Jimmy Darts Approaches A Shopper And Asks If He Wants $100 Or To Give A Family $1,000
A simple act of kindness can go a far way, and Jimmy Darts knows it. The viral TikToker recently partnered with Burlington Stores to surprise a few families with some financial help during back-to-school shopping at the Minneapolis Burlington Store.
"Burlington would like to know if you'd rather have $100 for yourself or give $1,000 to a family in the store for back-to-school shopping," Jimmy asked a random shopper. The shopper replied, "You can give it to a family."
Jimmy, along with the shopper, approached a woman shopping with her young son. The shopper, named Kevin, said, "We wanna bless you with $1,000." The woman was grateful and said, "Thank you." Jimmy then explained that Kevin had the option of taking money for himself, but he chose to pass it on. She then gave Kevin a hug.
"I'm a single mom so I'm like basically doing everything on my own," the shopper said. That made Kevin tear up.
"I work in a mental health field. Doing for people is my big thing," Kevin said. Then Jimmy told Kevin that because of his kindness, Burlington wanted to also give him $1,000.
The video received more than 1.6 million views and nearly 1,500 comments.
"He said so much with the way he said 'people like you, man,'" one person pointed out. Another added, "You're a different breed of human. You’re amazing. ?"
Jimmy Darts Asks A Shopper: "Do You Have An Extra Dollar?"
When Jimmy approached another shopper and asked, "Do you have an extra dollar?" and explained that he's "short on tax" to buy a backpack, the shopper had no idea what her random act of kindness would in turn do for her. The shopper, Abby, didn't ask a single question, just politely handed him a dollar bill.
Jimmy then struck up a conversation with Abby, who was shopping with her three kids, and asked her if there was anything on her summer bucket list that she didn't get to do this year. The kids said go to a theme park.
Just as Abby was about to walk away, he handed her the dollar bill back and told her, "Burlington wants to reward you for your kindness, and we're gonna give you $1,000."
"You're lying!" she exclaimed. "I'm getting $1,000? What? This is real?"
When asked why she was so kind to Jimmy when he asked for a dollar, she said she felt like he needed it.
"If nobody in the store doing it, why can't I do it?" she said. "Sometimes people fall short. I always help people up. Something brought me in the store today."
The video received more than 9.3 million views and 3,300 comments.
"People who need help know what it feels like and are quick to help," one person wrote. Another added, "And her kids see all this. Great life lesson. Awesome mom!!"
