Former MLB player Chasen Bradford is celebrating his graduation from the police academy behind bars as he was arrested on DUI.

The 34-year-old spent one year with the New York Mets as a relief pitcher but decided to take his career in a different direction and go into law enforcement. Instead of being the one who arrests people, he was the one in handcuffs after he was "swerving" all over the road one day after graduating the police academy.

Chasen Bradford Celebrates Graduation A Bit Too Much

Bradford was one of 14 who graduated from the police academy on March 21, but on March 22, he was placed in handcuffs and behind bars.

The former pitcher was a probationary officer with the Henderson Police Department when he was charged with one count of driving while under the influence, which is a misdemeanor.

“On the evening of March 22, 2024, one of those (graduating) officers chose to drink and drive resulting in their arrest by the Henderson Police Department,” Henderson Chief of Police Hollie Chadwick said in a statement.

Bradford was seen “swerving all over the road and hitting medians” and “driving up on a curve” the arrest report stated, per KSNV.

After calls came in reporting the possible drunk driver, police tracked down the gray Ford pickup truck with an American flag sticker on the left side window and asked the former MLB player to step out of the vehicle. He then performed a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

He was asked several questions by law enforcement, including how much he had drank, to which he stated he had two Coors Light beers. However, he later admitted to having a total of five or six beers throughout the day.

During the initial Field Sobriety Tests he had blown a .104. Later at the station, another breathalyzer test showed a .094 on the first blow, and a .098 on his second.

He has since been terminated by the department.
