Tiffany Haddish is keeping her body clean following her 2023 DUI arrest.
She disclosed that she started a sobriety journey after the incident and has completed almost three months of rehabilitation.
Tiffany Haddish Has No Difficulty Avoiding The Bottle
During an appearance on the latest episode of "The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet," Haddish shared that she has been sober for over two months since her DUI arrest in November. In the words of the comedian:
"I haven't drank any alcohol, smoked any weed, or anything in like 72 days. It's not hard. It's not that hard."
Explaining that going sober was not entirely her idea, Haddish told de Cadenet:
"I consider myself [as] being obedient to the law. It was court-mandated. You know, two years I've been waiting for my hearing in Georgia, and what happened in L.A. triggered Georgia, and they're like, 'OK, we want you to do driving alcohol tests.' And I'm like, 'Cool.'"
So far, the 44-year-old has not encountered any issues since she has not been indulging in alcohol or drugs. However, she did clarify that she "was only smoking weed on my period because it was so painful."
The Actress Has Every Intention Of Being Mostly Sober
Regarding her intention to maintain sobriety, Haddish declared that she wasn't having any drink "any time soon but added a clause saying:
"I've got a few reasons why I might have a drink. [If] I win an Oscar, [I'm] gonna have a shot of vodka for that. If one of my family members dies, I'm going to have a shot of vodka for that. If I get engaged to be married, I'm going to get s—t-faced drunk one night just so he could see my full crazy. But that'll be it."
The "Night School" actress attributed her new attitude towards alcohol to the significant improvement she has experienced without drinking.
"In these 70 days, waking up without my joints aching, my body feeling inflamed, or experiencing brain fog, I feel like it's 1998 again. I feel youthful, like a teenager," she expressed.
Haddish Walked Away With A Slap On The Wrist
Haddish is lucky to have gotten away without heavy punishment for the 2023 DUI debacle.
Per legal documents obtained by The Blast, when she appeared in a Los Angeles County courtroom earlier this year, she pleaded no contest to reckless driving.
As part of the plea agreement, the other charges were dismissed, a common occurrence in DUI cases known as a "wet reckless."
The "I Curse You With Joy" author was placed on summary probation for one year, with a mandate to fulfill 40 hours of community service.
Additionally, Haddish was directed to complete the Mothers Against Drunk Driving's Victim Impact Program and the Hospital and Morgue [HAM] Program.
The legal agreement also mandated her to pay the standard fines and fees to the court and complete the Driver's Education Program, which is typical for a wet, reckless conviction.
Haddish even received a "Watson" warning, which is a formal statement acknowledging the understanding that driving under the influence can result in injury or death to others and can be used against the individual if they are involved in a DUI accident in the future.

She was previously arrested in Peachtree, Georgia, following a report of a person sleeping behind the wheel of their car in a residential area. The charges at that time included DUI and improper stopping on a roadway.
Haddish Has Been Struggling With Conceiving
Besides her multiple DUI convictions, the Primetime Emmy Awards winner once opened up about her struggles with having kids. Haddish revealed:
"Well, I'm going to be honest with you, this would be my eighth [miscarriage]. I've got a uterus shaped like a heart. It just won't keep anything in."
Haddish then stated that she chose to keep all her miscarriages private because "Like a wounded animal, I'd rather retreat to a cave by myself and lick my wounds."
Amid the struggles, the California native has taken up attending parenting classes to ready herself for adoption. Despite this preparation, Haddish admitted that she remains uncertain about becoming a mother.
