Lukas Gage is opening up about his whirlwind romance with Kim Kardashian's hair stylist, Chris Appleton, and why he can't fully dive into the details of their breakup.
Last year, the British actor and his former beau shocked fans when they ended their marriage less than a year after promising to spend a lifetime together. While Gage didn't share the real reason behind their divorce, he confirmed there wasn't a third party.
Lukas Gage Describes Six-Month Marriage As A ‘Manic Episode’
The “Euphoria” star dropped several bombshells about his past relationship in his recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” including hints about signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
When the host expressed his surprise at Gage's rushed marriage to Appleton after only dating for two months, the actor claimed he was out of his mind. From his perspective, his actions were:
“Manic, absolutely unhinged. I had a manic episode for six months. Those jackets, those furry jackets… What happened to me?”
“I don't know literally what went through my head, but we live, and we learn,” Gage added per Daily Mail, before doubling down on his whirlwind romance with Appleton being a “manic” move.
The Former Couple's Divorce Wasn't Influenced By Infidelity
When Cohen asked for the reason behind the duo's sudden divorce and if infidelity had played a significant part in it, the 28-year-old disagreed. He confirmed, “there was no cheating” but seemingly hinted at signing an NDA.
“Oh, god. Andy, there's the three-letter thing I signed,” Gage said, cuing Cohen to ask, “You signed an NDA? With him?” However, the actor refused to confirm nor deny the claim, saying: “I plead the fifth.”
The talk-show host then noted Gage must have been head over heels for Appleton, given their swift marriage. Once again, the British sensation stated that he had a penchant for quickly falling in love, claiming:
“Yeah, that is kind of how I roll. I am a little impulsive, you know me, but that was probably one of the most unhinged things I've ever done in my life. I will probably have six other marriages.”
Gage Is Still Single Despite Romance Rumors
During the “Watch What Happens Live” show, fans asked Gage about his post-divorce relationship and whether he had successfully embraced online dating as a single man. However, the TV personality wasn't having the best luck.
“It is not going well. It is horrible. I am dating myself right now,” he said, echoing similar comments he made earlier this month. This also comes at the heels of his speculated relationship with “Saltburn” star Archie Madekwe.
Gage sparked romance rumors with the actor when he jokingly implied they were married after paparazzi spotted them entering the Vanity Fair gathering at Bar Marmont in Hollywood. At the time, the 28-year-old introduced Madekwe, saying: “Yeah, this is my new husband.”
'The White Lotus' Star Is Only Focused On Dating Himself
After his “husband” joke sparked dating speculations with Madekwe, Gage shut down fans’ hopes for a possible romance. He clarified his relationship with the “Midsommar” actor, saying: “No, we’re not married. We are friends. Archie’s the best.”
Despite stressing that he shared a platonic relationship with Madekwe, Gage claimed he didn't dislike being romantically linked to his pal. “I’ll take it as a compliment. Archie is a hottie. He’s a good one,” he chimed.
Before clarifying the romance rumors, the “American Vandal” actor revealed he was done using dating apps and is currently focusing on himself. In his words:
“I took a break from them. They’re not for me right now. Right now, I’m finding myself. I’m just loving — I’m dating me.”
Chris Appleton Filed For Divorce From Lukas Gage
As stated, Gage's marriage to Appleton came crashing down in November 2023 when the renowned hair stylist pulled the plug. He filed for divorce at the Superior Court of Los Angeles just six and half months after the pair's trip down the aisle.
Appleton cited Hollywood's favorite “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, with his legal documents listing their separation date as October 11, 2023.
As for what he wanted, Kardashian's stylist asked the court to terminate the duo's rights to spousal support.
The former couple had no children, so child support and a custodial battle weren't a problem. The same applied to the splitting of their assets, as they had an ironclad prenuptial agreement detailing how they wanted the settlement to proceed.
