Kris Jenner Reveals Her Only Sister Karen Houghton Has Died 'Unexpectedly'

Reality TV star and business mogul Kris Jenner has announced the death of her sister, Karen Houghton. Kris shared the heartbreaking news of Karen's passing on her Instagram page.

The famous "Momager" also accompanied her lengthy tribute with childhood photos of Karen, who resembles her in appearance.

On Tuesday, Kris took to her Instagram page to share the heartbreaking news of Karen's passing.

She wrote, "It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly."

"My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time. Karen was beautiful inside and out," Kris added.

The TV personality went on to note that Karen was "the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny."

Still, in her lengthy post, Kris talked about how "grateful" her late sister was for life and noted that she held her family and friends close to her heart.

"She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter," Kris shared.

She emphasized that Karen's death serves as a reminder of how short and fleeting life is, noting how important it is to cherish every moment.

Concluding her tribute, Kris stated: "She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together. Karen's passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister."

Karen was Kris' only sister. In addition to the reality TV star, she is survived by her daughter Natalie, 26, her mother Mary Jo Campbell, and Kris' children, Kourtney, Kim Khloe, and Rob Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

In the comment section of Kris' post, fans were quick to comfort Kris by sharing kind words for her late sister, Karen.

One person wrote, "I'm so sorry. Holding you and your family in love and prayers. I know she will send signs to show you she is still with you, surrounding you with love."

Another stated, "So sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family so much love."

"I thought that was you in the first picture, the genes are strong. Sending prayers," a third person noted.

According to reports, the sisters had several ups and downs in their relationship, which included the pair taking jabs at each other publicly. Kris also occasionally spoiled her little sister with gifts, which showed that they were still on good terms.

Karen once ruffled feathers when she spoke with reporters outside Kim's baby shower in 2013 and even gave them a little dance.

Despite signing an NDA, the 65-year-old reportedly talked candidly about the treats she ate at the party, the goody bags given to guests, and how Kim and her then-husband, Kanye West, handed out "gave out Rolexes." This seemingly caused some bad blood between her and the family.

However, in a 2019 Instagram Story post shared by Karen's daughter, she and Kris reunited and were seen smiling alongside their children, Natalie and Kylie, and their mother, MJ.

Besides being so candid about Kim's baby shower, Karen also claimed in 2013 that her sister, Kris, spent a jaw-dropping $1 million on plastic surgery due to her allegedly being self-conscious about her weight.

"She was heavy as a kid and became worried about her looks at age 15," She told In Touch. "The whole world knows it – Kris is vain."

The following year, she told another news outlet that Kris and her then-husband, Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner), would never reunite despite the pair being friendly with each other at the time.

She said, "Bruce left. He walked out on her, and I think he’s not coming back. He couldn’t take the yelling anymore and stuff."
