Dan Schneider Allegedly Favored 'White Kids'

While 'All Star' actor Kyle Sullivan claims he had a good relationship with Dan Schneider, per the docuseries, ‘All That’ star Bryan Hearne said his experience wasn't quite the same.

"It was “freeing to get the role” in 'All That'," Hearne said, but “that wasn't the reality.”

"Dan [Schneider] had a nicer relationship with some of the other white kids," he claimed in the docuseries, adding that he "didn't feel close to Dan at all."

Throughout his time on Nickelodeon, he claims he encountered multiple scenarios where his race was brought up in conversation or during a skit. "My time on Nickelodeon played a big part in how I dealt, and how I still deal with racial issues," Hearne alleged in the bombshell docuseries.

Bryan Hearne Claims Nickelodeon Wanted To Change 'Skin Tone' During Skits

Any 90s kid may remember the iconic sketch, 'Little Fetus' on 'All That', which starred Bryan Hearne, wearing a bodysuit, and rapping songs such as 'Yo Embryo'. While this was funny to many, they didn't know what was allegedly happening behind the scenes.

"There was this sketch where I played the youngest rapper of all time - Little Fetus," he began to say in the docuseries. "They were fitting me for the Little Fetus role, and essentially you're a fetus, so you're n-ked, but you know they had to put a bodysuit on you and obviously it had to be skin toned."

"Someone said the skin tone should be charcoal," he alleged, adding, "I got teary-eyed."

Tracey Brown, Bryan's mom, was also interviewed for ‘Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV', where she opened up about her experience of having a son star on such a big network.

One specific scene stuck out to her. A scene where Bryan was selling cookies. "It was the first day of filming and they set up the scene like he was selling drugs," she claimed in the docuseries. "Oh, the black kid gets to be the crack dealer," she said.

She claims to have tried to tell her son's agent about how uncomfortable the entire thing was, but the agent reportedly told her to “shut up" because this was a good opportunity for her son.

At the end of the scene, Tracey Brown described how a man was sitting on a chair, who was portraying the producer of the show, and behind him was a "young lady massaging him."

"That was pulled from Dan [Schneider] getting massages on set," 'All That' star Kyle Simmons claimed, adding, "which was weird."

In a statement to USA TODAY, Nickelodeon said, "Though we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago, Nickelodeon as a matter of policy investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct."

Dan Schneider's spokesperson claims that "Dan expected and asked a lot from his teams. They worked long hours and consistently made successful shows. In the challenges of production, Dan could get frustrated at times, and he understands why some employees found that intimidating and stressful."

Adding, "In a career spanning 30+ years, Dan worked with thousands of people, many of whom still tell him how much they enjoyed and appreciated working on his shows. But he also knows some people did not have a positive experience, and he is truly sorry for that. Dan knows he should have done better and feels awful about anyone who saw him at his worst, instead of his best."

'Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV' is currently streaming on MAX.
