Julia Molinari Makes Pastina, Otherwise Known As 'Italian Penicillin'
For many people, pastina is a favorite comfort food. Molinari has an easy-to-make recipe that adds a "secret ingredient," and she recently shared it in a now viral TikTok video.
"Today's been a long day. I really just need some good Italian comfort food," she said. "We're gonna make some Italian penicillin."
What you'll need for this recipe: a box of pastina noodles, chicken stock, a small amount of chicken bouillon, parmesan cheese, butter, parsley and one egg, which happens to be Molinari's "secret ingredient."
Let's Get Cooking!
First, Molinari puts the chicken stock and pastina noodles into a pot to cook. She adds the chicken bouillon and parmesan cheese while it's cooking and stirs. She then cracks an egg and scrambles it before adding it into the pot, calling it, "the most important part."
After mixing the egg in, she adds a generous amount of parsley, and "a little bit of butter."
Then it's time to eat! She pours herself a bowl, sprinkles on some olive oil and seasoning before diving in!
"This will cure any negative feeling, sadness, sickness, you'll ever feel in your life," she said. "You can have my word for that."
Many Viewers Agree That Pastina Cures All!
Molinari's pastina video received more than 1.5 million views and tons of comments. Many comments are about how "beautiful" the content creator is, and others talk about the power of pastina.
"Pastina makes everything better, everybody knows that," one viewer wrote in the comment section. Another added, "Every time we were sick my dad would make pastina."
One viewer shared, "OMG! Pastina and egg... I thought only my nana made that."
Another viewer suggested one other way to make pastina, "You should try boiling carrots, celery and onion til it gets soft before you add pasta stars. Then take ‘em out, blend them til smooth and add it back too chicken broth. Then add pasta and your egg."
One follower wrote, "Will someone please give this girl her own show already?"
