An update to his Instagram page reads, "Contrary to what has been prematurely, insensitively, and inaccurately posted - My dad IS NOT dead, he’s still alive and fighting for his life. He needs your continued prayers and support. Certain people have been so quick to write him off as dead so they can capitalize off it, and it’s messed up because yall really think these people care about him. There is no Geto Boys without Bushwick Bill."

The original story about the news of his passing remains below. We will update as more information becomes available.

Bushwick Bill (real name: Richard Stephen Shaw) was born in Jamaica with dwarfism and has been listed as 3'8" tall. He lost his right eye after being shot by his mom while high on PCP.

The Geto Boys were perhaps best known for their song "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" but movie fans know their work from the infamous scene from "Office Space" when the main characters destroy a printer as the song "Still" plays in the background.
