Donald Trump has promised his supporters that one of his first acts if he's re-elected president is to free those convicted for the January 6 Capital riot incident. Over a thousand people have been charged across 50 states for those crimes.

Some of the defendants in the Capital riot reportedly had their sentences improperly increased, according to a federal appeals court ruling. Trump himself is currently in the midst of multiple trials, including a conspiracy to overturn his 2020 election loss.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has shared his intentions for his first day if he's re-elected. On late Monday, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to post that he'll free everyone imprisoned due to the January 6, 2021, Capital riot.

His post read, "My first acts as your next President will be to Close the Border, DRILL, BABY, DRILL, and Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!"

Over 1300 people were charged across the 50 states in America for various crimes relating to the Capitol incident. That day, hundreds of rioters stormed into the building to protest Trump's loss to Biden for the 2020 election.

Almost 500 individuals were charged with impeding law enforcement, which is a felony, and assault. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Amid Trump's promises to free those convicted for the Capitol riot, a new report has revealed that there was a "hidden transcript" during the investigation.

According to Fox News, the transcript claimed that the congressional committee investigating the incident falsely claimed not to have any evidence that Trump's former administration requested assistance from the National Guard.

Barry Loudermilk, the Georgia Republican Representative, released a statement on the alleged transcript on Friday.

It read, "The former J6 Select Committee apparently withheld Mr. Ornato's critical witness testimony from the American people because it contradicted their pre-determined narrative. Mr. Ornato's testimony proves what Mr. Meadows has said all along: President Trump did in fact offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol, which was turned down."

The transcript Loudermilk released was of the testimony given by former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato. Molly Hemingway, a contributor to Fox News and The Federalist, previously agreed with Loudermilk's claims that the committee "suppressed evidence" about the request for National Guard support.

As hundreds of criminal defendants were sentenced and imprisoned for their roles in the riot, a Washington federal appeals court has ruled that some of them had their sentences improperly increased. This was due to hundreds of appeals from the defendants after the conclusion of their cases.

The Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit recently ruled on the case of defendant Larry Brock and said his sentence improperly included charges of "interference with the administration of justice."

Enrique Tarrio, a former leader of the Proud Boys, received the longest sentence for the Capital Riot incident so far.

Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years of prison time after being convicted on charges of seditious conspiracy by a Washington jury. Three other leading individuals in the Proud Boys received sentences ranging between 15 to 18 years.

Trump himself is still facing multiple trials at the state and federal level in the U.S. This includes his current federal trial on conspiracy to overturn his election loss to Biden in 2020. He's currently challenging the trial on the grounds that he's fully immune from any criminal prosecution.

The billionaire mogul is also facing similar charges in Georgia, where he's accused of trying to overturn the state's election results in 2020.

Another major case the businessman is battling is his defamation trial against writer E. Jean Carroll, in which he was sentenced to pay over $90 million.

Last week, Trump secured a bond for over $90 million to cover the defamation judgment, and he has also filed a notice to appeal the verdict. The 77-year-old is still trying to secure an even larger bond for a judgment in a separate business fraud trial, which is also due this month.
