Jimmy Kimmel's dig at Donald Trump at the end of the 2024 Oscars was arguably one of the night's biggest moments, but it almost didn't happen.

In fact, somebody in charge told the late-night talk show host not to read Donald Trump's Truth post live on television, which was posted as an attack on Kimmel's hosting duties at the 96th Academy Awards.

If you tuned into the 2024 Oscars on Sunday, March 10, you watched Jimmy Kimmel call out Donald Trump on live television after he became aware of the former President's social media post.

“See if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social? Anyone?” Kimmel asked the audience just moments before 'Oppenheimer' won Best Picture. “Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching. I’m surprised. Isn’t it past your jail time? He’s focused on the important stuff, for sure.”

The funny thing -- Jimmy Kimmel was told not to read the post live on stage. Obviously, he broke the rules and did it anyway.

Kimmel revealed that he had an extra minute to fill near the end of the awards show when on 'Live With Kelly & Mark.'

“They’re like, ‘You’ve got a little bit of time’ and I was like, ‘I’m reading the Trump tweet,’ and they’re like, ‘No, no, don’t read that,’ ” the Oscars host told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Monday on their daytime talk show. “[I was like] ‘Yes I am.’ “

Just as the 2024 Oscars were ending, former President Donald Trump took to the social media platform, Truth, to voice his opinion on Jimmy Kimmel’s hosting duties.

“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump began to write in his Truth Social post. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos,” he added, referring to ‘Good Morning America”s George Stephanopoulos.

“[Stephanopoulos] would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous," Trump added.

The former President did not stop there, as he then called out the Academy for having "a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair."

Adding, "Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

One of the most talked about moments during the 2024 Academy Awards show was WWE star John Cena's bare body.

In case you missed it, John Cena took the stage at the 2024 Oscars to present an award…. naked.

The stunt went down after Jimmy Kimmel brought up the streaker incident which occurred at the 46th Academy Awards in 1974. The host of this year's show then thought it would be funny if they recreated the incident and have a streaker run across the stage at the 96th Oscars, and who better to crash the party than John Cena?

“At the 46th Academy Awards, 1974, David Niven was in the middle of introducing Elizabeth Taylor when a nude man – a streaker – ran across the stage,” Jimmy Kimmel said on stage. “Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today?”

Cue... John Cena in all his glory.

After a bit of back and forth between Kimmel and Cena, as the 'Suicide Squad' actor said he no longer wanted to do the stunt, the WWE star told Kimmel the “ male body is not a joke.” Of course, this was all part of the stunt.

It was later revealed that while Cena's attire was barely anything, the 46-year-old took several precautions to prevent any potential wardrobe mishaps. Photos later surfaced showing a beige-colored pouch designed to conceal his private parts underneath the envelope.

In the end, Cillian Murphy took home the Best Actor award for his role in 'Oppenheimer' and Emma Stone won Best Actress for 'Poor Things.'

The biggest award of the night, Best Picture, went to 'Oppenheimer.'
