Post Malone is paying tribute to the late Toby Keith, one month after he passed away from stomach cancer.

As you know, the 'Red Solo Cup' singer passed away on Monday, February 5 after a long battle with stomach cancer. He first announced his cancer diagnosis in June 2022.

Toby Keith had many fans around the world, making him one of the biggest artists to date -- and one of his fans is 'Circles' artist, Post Malone.

Post Malone Covers 'As Good As I Once Was'

During his show at the American Rodeo in Dallas over the weekend, Post Malone took a moment to cover Toby Keith's big hit, 'As Good As I Once Was' while pouring a beer into a red solo cup -- a reference to Keith's other hit, 'Red Solo Cup.'

Halfway through the show, the shirtless Post Malone played acoustic guitar in a heartfelt tribute as he belted out the No. 1 hit.

He then shared the tribute on TikTok, simply writing, "As Good As I Once Was RIP @Toby Keith."

Shortly before wrapping up the song and singing the final chorus at the American Rodeo, the 28-year-old picked up a red Solo cup and took a sip of beer.

Fans immediately gushed over Posty's tribute, as one of his fans commented on the video, "Another beautiful rendition and I guarantee he’s up there throwing a few back and smiling."

"Our king singing for another king," another said.

A third wrote, "Love it! I know Toby is raising his red cup and singing along."

Fans Want Post Malone To Release A Country Album

Not only did the video gain love from Toby Keith fans, but it also sparked a conversation amongst users on how Posty's next album should be country!

"Sir. I'm now begging for a country album," one fan commented. "Posty your country songs are absolutely stunning," another said.

A third chimed in by saying, "Beautiful tribute, to Toby Keith. I think you could sing anything."

Post may be listening to his fans' as he recently said he's been toying with the idea of releasing a country music album. "To be honest, there's nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album [to put] on YouTube," he said on SiriusXM's 'The Howard Stern Show'. "I'm allowed to do that, I'm a human being."

Of course, this isn't the first time Post Malone has dipped his toes in the country world as at the 2023 CMA Awards, he took the stage alongside Morgan Wallen and HARDY to pay tribute to the late Joe Diffie.

Brad Paisley also recently revealed the pair recorded a collaboration.

In the past, Post Malone covered Elvis Presley's 'Blue Suede Shoes' with Blake Shelton and 'Baby, What You Want Me To Do' with Keith Urban.

Country Music World Pays Tribute to Post Malone

After learning of the news, many country music stars took to social media to pay tribute to the ‘Red Solo Cup’ singer, including Zach Bryan, known for his hit song ‘Something In The Orange’. “Too many rides in my old man’s car listening to Toby Keith," Bryan wrote, adding, "Really hard thing to hear. Rest in peace, friend. We love you.”

Post Malone wasn't the only artist to pay tribute by singing a legendary song by the country legend as Randy Houser sang “one of his favorite” songs by Keith — a rendition of ‘I Love This Bar’.

Alongside his tribute performance, Houser shared, “An American icon. They do not make em like him every day in my opinion. It’s late at night or early in the morning, but I wanted to sing one in his honor no matter what time it is. Rest In Peace. Job well done."

Toby Keith passed away on February 5 where he was surrounded by his family, who shared that “he fought his fight with grace and courage.”
