Fans Think Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Taking A Page From Britney Spears' Playbook
By Kelly Coffey-Behrens on March 10, 2024 at 3:15 PM EDT
Following her social media departure, fans are convinced that Gypsy Rose Blanchard is following in Britney Spears's footsteps -- and the entire stunt is just for attention and publicity.
For those who are unaware, Gypsy has gone MIA on Instagram, and X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. A new Instagram account has been made, however, it only has 70 followers compared to her previous 7.8M followers -- and this new one is private.
Did her newly found fame become too much for the ex-convict? Or is this all just one big publicity stunt?
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Takes Social Media Hiatus
Just hours before Gypsy went MIA on Instagram and X, The Blast reported on her recent spike of online activity as she shared several new posts with her 7.8M followers. However, that all changed as her verified account has been deactivated and all of those posts have been taken down.
Upon further investigation, there is a new Instagram account, with the same profile photo as the old one -- the difference? This seemingly new account is private and only has 70 followers.
Her hubby, Ryan Anderson, is still active on social media and has 366,000 followers. He is only following 11 people -- one of whom is the new private Gypsy Rose account.
While she no longer has a public Instagram page, and she has seemingly deleted her X account, many think she will be back soon and the entire thing is a publicity stunt for attention.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Being Compared To Britney Spears
After The Blast broke the news of Gypsy's social media departure, many began speaking out to share their opinions on the entire situation.
One Yahoo reader claimed, "She's following the Britney playbook. She'll be back. Gypsy will never give up the limelight. She craves attention."
Another social media user says she will be back on Instagram soon and claims the move is a publicity stunt and is "all part of the production."
Meanwhile, one Reddit user says Gypsy "is like a toddler looking for attention."
Lastly, one user claims "She’s already up to something shady, and she’s barely been out of prison."
Where Did Gypsy Rose Blanchard Go?
After her prison release, Gypsy Rose Blanchard gained millions of followers on Instagram. She then created a TikTok account where she continues to share videos from her day-to-day life and hops on some of the latest social media trends.
But, for those of you who look forward to the daily Gypsy posts, we have some bad news for you as the ex-convict is no longer active on social media -- and it is unclear why.
The last post she shared on IG before going MIA was a video of her debuting a balayage hairstyle in her “comeback kid era.”, which can still be viewed on her TikTok.

Despite Gypsy disappearing from most social media platforms, it seems her husband, Ryan Anderson, plans to stick around as his Instagram account is still public, and he is now following Gypsy's new, private Instagram account.
He hasn't posted in two days, however, Ryan is known for mocking the haters and making digs at rumors floating around -- so we could see an update of some sort from him that answers some of the questions fans currently have.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the now 32-year-old, was released from prison after serving seven years behind bars for co-conspiring to kill her mother.
For those who are unaware, Gypsy Rose is believed to be a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is a psychological disorder where "children whose mothers produce histories of illness to their children and who support such histories by fabricated physical signs and symptoms, or even by alter laboratory tests."
According to medical records shown in the 2017 docuseries, ‘Mommy Dead and Dearest’, Gypsy's mother, Dee Dee, took her daughter to the hospital over 100 times from 2005 to 2014 and convinced doctors to perform multiple surgeries on Gypsy, which were later deemed unnecessary.
Gypsy Rose felt there was no way out besides killing her mother, so she and her then-boyfriend came up with a plan, which they carried out in 2015.
