Nigel Lythgoe Slams Paula Abdul Over Sexual Assault Claims, She Is A 'Pathological Liar'

'American Idol'creator Nigel Lythgoe is blasting allegations of sexual assault by former host Paula Abdul, saying she is a "pathological liar."

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Lythgoe is denying the allegations by Abdul in her previous lawsuit, claiming he has proof she is lying about the whole situation.

As we reported, the 'Straight Up' singer sued her former boss claiming he "shoved her against a wall" and "grabbed her genitals and breasts, and began shoving his tongue down her throat" during a meeting. It continued, "Abdul attempted to push Lythgoe away from her." In another instance, she claims he forced himself on her and attempted to kiss her while proclaiming they would be a "power couple."

Now, Lythgoe is fighting back. The television executive started by simply saying, "Abdul is just not credible."

He continues, "She is a pathological liar and attention seeker,  with no apparent concern about consistently making contradictory representations. She invents stories and then she doubles down, always working to make herself appear the victim. Consistent with her past pattern of telling lies about incidents that allegedly happened to her, Abdul's recent allegations against Lythgoe are pure fiction.  There is only one victim here and that is Lythgoe, whose life and career have been decimated by Abdul's lies."

Adding, she has "a long history of telling wild stories that are untethered from reality and are primarily designed to attract attention."

As proof, Nigel describes a situation where Abdul told a story -- several times -- about surviving a plane crash. At the time, he says she said the story didn't make news because it was before computers and they were able to keep it under wraps due to NDAs. Of course, Nigel is saying it's all fabricated and shows a pattern of her lying and attention-seeking behavior.

The 'American Idol' honcho also says he has emails that prove his innocence.

The legal response included private emails from Abdul to Lythgoe AFTER the alleged assault, with what he calls "adoring" language. One email, sent on Sept. 12, 2014, reads, "Hi sweetheart -- thank you for this lovely 'gift.' Please forgive me for not calling yesterday. Forever grateful to have you in my life! Love, love LOVE YOU! XO P."

Another read, "Thank you for the beautiful flowers -- they were exquisite! But, I have to say the kicker was the birthday card last night. I am still howling! I truly appreciate our friendship and am looking forward to launching our project."

In the filing, Nigel's legal team writes, "Lythgoe has been Abdul's champion, support system, colleague, and professional collaborator, whose guidance and attention she sought out and for whom she expressed love and adoration time after time publicly and in private during the same period of time that Abdul now alleges she was "abused" by Lythgoe."

We broke the story, Nigel was sued earlier today for another similar-sounding sexual assault. 

In the new case, a woman claims she was meeting with the executive for business purposes when he forced her up against a wall and started groping her.

Both cases are ongoing.
