Socialite, model, entrepreneur Jackie Siegel, AKA, “The Real Queen of Versailles” has more than just one exciting project coming to fruition.
In addition to her new coffee brand, Victoria’s Voice Foundation work, and the second season of “Queen of Versailles Reigns Again,” the musical adaptation of the 2012 documentary, “The Queen of Versailles” debuts this summer with Kristin Chenoweth playing the coveted role of Jackie.
Jackie Siegel Is Excited For The Opening Of "The Queen Of Versailles" Musical!
Wife of David “The Timeshare King” Siegel and mom to eight children, Jackie keeps busy with multiple projects and businesses. One project she's excited to share is her new "Queen of Versailles" coffee. Another is her documentary hitting the stage for a live musical this summer and headed to Broadway next year.
The musical is an adaptation of the documentary that shares the story of the owners of Westgate Resorts and their family as they set out to build their private residence, Versailles, the largest and most expensive single-family house in the United States located in Orlando, Florida.
The new musical, which stars Chenoweth as Jackie, explores the true cost fame, fortune and family.
The idea of the musical was born while Jackie was in Cocoa Beach after being approached by a stranger.
“We own the Cocoa Beach Pier and we hang out at the beach over there. I ran into this young, beautiful blond with long blond hair like myself, and she came up to me, her name is Lindsey Ferrentino, and asked me if I’m interested in having my story on Broadway,” Jackie told The Blast exclusively.
“This is so weird because it was like it was meant to be because I wasn’t looking for, I didn’t have an agent, I wasn’t pursuing anything like this. I think it was just a chance meeting and she took the opportunity and asked me and I said sure.”
Several months later, Jackie got a call from Ferrentino who said her Broadway team and connections were interested in the idea.
“Then Covid hit, so we took that as an opportunity, and we met during Covid and worked on the story. I feel the one good thing is that we didn’t waste time during that shutdown,” she continued. “It was so amazing. It’s almost like, I don’t know, God was looking out for me or something.”
When Jackie was asked to sign off on the actress they chose to play her in the musical, she was more than happy to do so.
“When they announced to me that Kristen Chenoweth, I told them that’s not even a question if I was gonna sign off on her. I’m more than honored and I can’t think of anyone better because she is not only beautiful on the outside, she’s even more beautiful on the inside and that’s not to mention her amazing talent that’s above and beyond.” Jackie said. “I’m really so thankful that she’s on board as well.”
The show begins with dress rehearsals in July with the premiere set for August 1 in Boston. Then in 2025, the show is headed to Broadway, and Jackie is super excited about that.
Victoria's Voice Foundation Is Helping To Change And Save Lives
Jackie and David’s lives changed forever in 2016 when their then 18-year-old daughter, Victoria, died of a drug overdose. The tragedy pushed them into a new life purpose and thus Victoria’s Voice was born.
“We started our foundation the day after she passed away,” Jackie told The Blast. “We didn’t know what we were going to do with the foundation, but we’ve grown so much and we have speakers that go around the country. We pay for their travel, their accommodations, and they speak to several schools a day."
The foundation just hit a major milestone - reaching their millionth student.
The speakers also talk about the warnings of vaping because a lot of the kids are getting vapes second hand from other students or drug dealers thinking it’s safe, but a lot are now laced with fentanyl and other chemicals. The students are asked to give up their vapes by the speakers.
“We have thousands and thousands and thousands of vapes and we do test them,” she said. “Many of them have had fentanyl.”
Many kids are also buying what they think are prescription Adderall to pull all nighters to study, but many end up being fentanyl.
“Our message to everyone is don’t take anything, not even an aspirin, from a stranger, just because you don’t know where they got that from,” Jackie said.
The Broadway show will include her late daughter Victoria and Victoria’s Voice to help further tell her story and raise awareness.
“I just feel like the path that my life is going is for a greater purpose which is to save lives. And it’s also saving lives in general, not just from drugs, many things,” she said.
Jackie also urges parents and teens to watch “The Princess of Versailles” on her YouTube channel, as it shows the pain and suffering of losing Victoria.
“We also have the new release of the Victoria’s Voice book which is our daughter’s diary. She did leave a text prior to the night that she died when she thought she was going to overdose to her friend, that if she died of a drug overdose, because she knew she was playing Russian roulette with these drugs but was hoping it would never happen to her, that she wanted me to find her diary in her nightstand and publish it,” she said.
“She really felt it could help save other teenagers' lives by sharing her inner thoughts and her journey through the drugs that she was doing. So hopefully that can deter them because she died in the end.”
"The Queen of Versailles" pre-Broadway world premiere is July 16 through August 18, 2024 at The Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston. For more information and tickets, visit their website.
