A California house party turned into a tragedy after shots were fired, leaving multiple people dead and others injured.
According to reports, officers were dispatched to the CA residency around 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found three men with gunshot wounds in the front yard, where all were pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other people sustained gunshot wounds. The woman was transported to Mee Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The three men were transported to Natividad Hospital in Salinas for treatment. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Suspects Remain At Large Following House Party Mass Shooting
Police say people were gathered at the residence for a party when a silver Kia pulled up in front of the house. Three men wearing dark clothing and dark masks got out of the car and opened fire, per authorities.
The men fled the scene after the shooting and have yet to be identified. The suspects remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees the suspects in the California shooting or the silver Kia is urged to call 911. Anyone with additional information about the case is encouraged to contact Sgt. Josh Partida at 831-386-5988 or jpartida@kingcity.com or the WeTip Line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez shared a statement following the shooting.
"As we await details on tonight's events in King City please send prayers and healing energy to our community," Lopez wrote in a post. "May the victims find strength and healing, may our first responders remain safe, and may we all help restore peace to our neighborhoods and communities."
There have been 68 mass shootings across the country so far in 2024. Remember, a mass shooting is defined as an incident that leaves four or more people shot or killed.
68 Mass Shootings Have Occurred So Far In 2024
President Joe Biden has called on Republicans to “fulfill their obligation to keep the American people safe,” but “until that day comes, I will continue to do everything in my power to end this gun violence epidemic.”
Following the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine last year, which left 18 dead and injured several others when Robert Card opened fire at a bowling alley and a local bar, Biden stated, “Once again, an American community and American families have been devastated by gun violence. In all, at least eighteen souls brutally slain, more injured, some critically, and scores of family and friends praying and experiencing trauma no one ever wants to imagine.”
“Numerous brave law enforcement officers have worked around the clock to find this suspect and prevent the loss of more innocent lives – all while risking their own. They are the best of us,” the President added at the time.
Again, anyone who sees the suspects in the recent California shooting or the silver Kia is urged to call 911. Plus, anyone with additional information about the case is encouraged to contact Sgt. Josh Partida at 831-386-5988 or jpartida@kingcity.com or the WeTip Line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
