The beginning of Janice's cancer journey began back in November 2021 when she first found a lump in her neck. A few months later, she shared a video on TikTok explaining what she found.

“There’s no easy way to talk about this, but unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, I was diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma, what seems to be a sarcoma, which is a muscle cancer,” she explained. “It’s in my neck and it’s very scary. These cancers seem to be rare, so you know, there’s like a one in one million chance of me getting this. Like only a couple hundred people are diagnosed in the U.S. every year with this cancer.”

The viral TikToker was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare cancer that develops in bones and soft tissues. She underwent surgery, chemo and radiation and became cancer free in July 2022. Less than a year later, she announced that her cancer was back.

On January 10, Janice entered hospice. She revealed that she transferred all her songs to her son Loren, 7, so the proceeds will go to him.

Her final song, "Dance You Outta My Head," has taken over TikTok in the past few weeks. People all over the world wanted to help the song go viral as her last wish and used the song in their content.

"The idea for the song, 'Dance You Outta My Head' came about last spring," she told PEOPLE. "We [her and her son Loren] came up with some fun lyrics and a little ditty. I song banked it and made a little voice note of it and as time went on, we would bounce around in the car to it every now and then."

On January 23, Janice found that her song was charting on iTunes.

"I was sitting there in the middle of the night looking at my phone  - what the heck is going on here? I started yelling and my parents came down, they were like, what is going on?" she said. "I just wanted to put out something fun and positive. My art is all I have to leave behind."

According to Billboard, the song topped the TikTok Billboard Top 50 on February 17. It's also reached the top 10 of Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronica Songs chart.
