"My manager reached out to me a couple of days ago and offered me a fight," the martial artist clarified.

While she revealed this decision on the podcast she co-hosts with her husband, Austin Vanderford, she remained tight-lipped about specific details such as her potential opponent or the organizing promotion. "It was initially, the date they offered me was March 23, which was perfect," VanZant said, noting that it would afford her a nine-week training camp while alleviating stress and anxiety. Moreover, it presented the chance for a new fight prior to her 30th birthday on March 26.

However, she elaborated, "After I accepted it, they're like, you know what, we're going to move it to [May or June]. I heard both dates, so once I have the full information, we'll be able to release it on the podcast."
