Britney Spears Reportedly Still Involved With Former Employee Despite Criminal Past

Fans of Britney Spears are a little worried about the singer amid new reports that she has continued to date her former housekeeper, Paul Richard Soliz, who was reportedly fired after his concerning criminal past came to light.

The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer is still in the process of settling her divorce from actor Sam Asghari. The two met on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016 and tied the knot in June 2022. However, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce in August 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

Although reports indicated that Britney Spears and Paul Richard Soliz had gone their separate ways in September 2023, only one month after Sam Asghari filed for divorce, a source told Us Weekly that “Britney and Paul are definitely together,” adding, “He’s still in the picture” despite concern from fans and Britney’s own team.

In May 2023, Paul was hired to do maintenance work around her Thousand Oaks estate only a few months before Sam filed for divorce. Although the two are rarely photographed together, sources told the outlet that the two take road trips to Santa Barbara and that Paul sleeps over at Britney’s L.A. mansion two or three nights a week.

Although Paul has children with another woman and works full-time, Britney reportedly feels as though he doesn’t spend enough time with her, as a source said that she “feels as though she deserves more attention, but he has to be there for his kids.”

A second source indicated that Britney has actually met his children and the group has even gone horseback riding together. The source says that Paul’s seven-year-old son is Britney’s “favorite,” adding, “They just click.” However, the insider went on to say that all the kids “like her” and “she’s great” with all of them.

Unfortunately, Britney’s team is reportedly not happy with the singer’s new romance. Paul Richard Soliz has multiple misdemeanors and felonies on his rap sheet, although it is unclear why someone with multiple felonies was allowed to get close to the pop star and hired to work for her.

“Her assistants don’t want [Paul] around; they’ve made that clear from day one,” one source said. “She is such a sweetheart and generous by nature, but he doesn’t want anything. He isn’t in it for that and genuinely cares about her as a person. [But] her managerial team probably thinks he is out to do something shady.”

Another insider agreed, adding, “Her team believes that at some point he will want something from her or throw her under the bus.” However, another source said that Paul is exclusive with Britney, explaining that he “loves her company and he’s not seeing anyone else.” However, even they admitted that Britney doesn’t know what he does “when he’s not around.”

Another source insisted that Britney and Paul are strictly casual, explaining that Britney “isn’t technically dating anyone, but she is sleeping with a few other people.” They added that “She believes in finding love again” and might be open to getting married again in the future.

Britney and Paul were first linked in August 2023, the same month that Sam Asghari filed for divorce. The following month, Paul spoke to Us Weekly following a court appearance for allegedly violating the rules of his probation. He called Britney a “phenomenal woman” and a “good person” and expressed eagerness to clean up his public image.

I’m not a bad dude. I understand that things have been said about me in the past, and I have a criminal record — I get it,” he said at the time. “I’m a working man. I own my own business. I do a licensed contractor technique tile.”

Although he was hired in May 2023, he was “terminated” after two months. Although it was reported that the reason for his dismissal was due to his criminal history, a source told Us Weekly that Britney had cheated on Sam with Paul, which ended not only his employment but Britney’s marriage.

Sam officially filed for divorce on August 16, 2023, after 14 months of marriage; however, according to court documents obtained by The Blast, he listed the date of separation as July 28, 2023.
