A "grateful" Prince Harry has opened up about his visit to his father, King Charles III, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

In an interview with "Good Morning America," Harry admitted to loving his family and mentioned that Charles' diagnosis will help reunite the family.

The King was diagnosed with cancer earlier in the month and has since started treatment along with suspending all his "public facing" duties.

Speaking in an interview on Friday's episode of "Good Morning America," Harry broke his silence after his visit to the monarch, who recently made headlines for his shocking cancer diagnosis.

The Duke of Sussex told his host, Will Reeve, that he "loves" his family and was "grateful" for being able "to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him" after he heard the news.

When questioned about whether Charles' diagnosis would lead to a lasting resolution of the strained relationship between his family and the royal firm, Harry responded affirmatively. However, he did not reveal whether he plans to make another visit soon.

"Absolutely. Yeah, I'm sure," the 39-year-old Invictus Games founder replied. "Throughout all these [Invictus Games] families, I see it on a day-to-day basis the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together."

Buckingham Palace revealed earlier in the month that Charles was diagnosed with cancer, adding that it was not related to his earlier enlarged prostate treatment.

According to an official statement, the monarch has since "commenced a schedule of regular treatments," which would stop him from attending to "public-facing duties." However, he will "continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual."

It further noted why the monarch chose to share his cancer diagnosis with the public rather than keep it private.

The statement added, "His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."

At the time, it was reported that both his sons, Harry and Prince William, were personally notified about his cancer diagnosis.

It remains to be seen whether his illness will stop him from attending very important royal events, such as marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June. A possible date for his return to his full duties is also yet to be revealed.

Days after the King's diagnosis became public, Harry jetted out to see the monarch sans his wife, Meghan Markle.

It was reported that Harry's prompt visit to Britain "indicates the seriousness" of the King's condition and that the monarch even informed the prince of his diagnosis before it became public.

The Duke's last encounter with his father was at his coronation in May of last year, and prior to that, he had seen him only at Queen Elizabeth's funeral.

Meghan was present at the Queen's funeral but noticeably absent at the King's coronation, reportedly due to it coinciding with Archie's birthday. The reason for her not accompanying Harry on his visit to the King after his cancer diagnosis remains unclear.

After returning to his California residence from his visit to see his father, Harry once again traveled out. His trip, which Meghan tagged along for, was to Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's One Year to Go celebrations.

The duo met with participants in the nation's Winter Training Camp,  including team managers, coaches, and competitors. The gathering also served as an opportunity for stakeholders to immerse themselves in the experience of winter adaptive sports before the upcoming competition next year on February 8–16, 2025.

Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel. Previous editions have been held in Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, and most recently in the Netherlands and Germany.
