Jenna Bush Hager 'Totaled' Her Car In A Massive Car Accident

Jenna Bush Hager was involved in a serious car accident that totaled her vehicle.  The former first daughter revealed that the crash happened because she did not observe the black ice in her driveway.

She also shared that she has had past accidents, which were minor, occurring around the time she began learning how to drive.

Speaking on Thursday's episode of "Today with Hoda and Jenna," Hager revealed that she was involved in an accident that left her car a total wreck.

"I got in one total wreck in my own driveway of late. Totaled the car. Total loss," Hager said on the show.

Not withholding details about the cause, Hager shared that the accident happened because the ground on her driveway was "icy." This is more aptly described as black ice, a term used to define patchy ice on roadways that is not easily visible.

Hager also mentioned that being born in Dallas, Texas, typically known for its mild winters and hot, muggy summers, made her unfamiliar with handling black ice.

The mother of three continued: "I had never heard of black ice. I didn't know what would happen. I hit it. I was going a little too fast, too, spun into a tree, that was it," she added.

Fortunately for Hager, the accident did not lead to any injuries, despite how badly the car was wrecked.

Besides revealing the recent accident, Hager also shared that she has had quite a number of car accidents in the past, sometimes involving her sister, Barbara.

These incidents, which occurred around the time she learned to drive, were due to her lack of caution and impulsive behavior behind the wheel.

"My first year of driving, I had a little impulse control issues, you know, my brain developed a little later, so I would just put it on, get in the car, speed back without ever looking back," said the former first daughter.

She added, "Barbara and I –– and I'm not 100 percent sure this is the perfect number –– but I'm pretty sure the two of us together got in 13 accidents."

However, unlike her recent accident, these prior ones were "minor, minor fender benders" and often did not require her to send it to the car workshop for any repairs.

Hager's disclosure follows her revelation in the last episode that her eldest child, Mila, is becoming "obsessed" with skincare products.

She believes this trend is influenced by kids using TikTok, although she clarified that her children don't have the app on their phones.

"My daughter Mila told me that she went to Target yesterday with a friend. And she goes, 'Look what I bought. This mini Aquaphor, how cute is this'" Hager said at the time, adding, "I just thought, 'Where have we come?'"

When Mila noticed Hager's lack of enthusiasm about the purchase, she asked why. In response, the mother of three explained that she leans more towards appreciating natural beauty.

Hager continued, "I'm like, 'Mila, because you don't need it. Look at your beautiful skin. You don't need it.'"
