Taylor Swift has fired off a warning at a college student, Jack Sweeney, whose past habit is tracking celebrity jets.

Reports have it that the singer sent a cease and desist letter from her lawyers to the University of Central Florida undergrad, instructing him that he should no longer engage in tracking her jet.

The letter also mentioned that they would file a suit against him if he continued his actions. Sweeney has reportedly responded to the threat, saying he is not in violation of any laws.

According to a report, Swift has made moves to stop a college student known as Jack Sweeney from tracking her private jet whenever she is on the move.

The Grammy award winner, via her lawyers, has reportedly forwarded a Cease and Desist letter sent to Sweeney telling him to cut the "stalking and harassing" behavior, or else they will be forced "to pursue any and all legal remedies."

As part of the letter, Swift's lawyer also claimed that Sweeney was causing emotional and physical distress to the singer as well as inviting possible stalkers that could put her safety in jeopardy.

"While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our Client," read a part of the letter, which further emphasized that there was "no legitimate interest in or public need for" Swift's whereabouts to be tracked.

Sweeney carries out his tracking activities using publicly available data from the FAA and other added info from fellow-like minds.

He is said to have an Instagram page that has been solely dedicated to tracking Swift's private jet, publishing details about her time of flight, distance covered, CO2 emissions, fuel usage, and cost of fuel. He also has a general page where he publishes flight info about other celebrities and sometimes shares tracking info about Swift.

While his recent locking of heads with Swift should have been enough to deter Sweeney, reports have it that he is fighting back with his lawyers.

He and his attorneys have claimed that he isn't committing acts of wrongdoing since the information he shares about Swift is all publicly available.

It remains to be seen whether the cease and desist letter would lead to a lawsuit, but this is very likely if Sweeney continues tracking Swift.

Jack Sweeney Also Tracked Billionaire Mogul Elon Musk

Swift is not the only high-profile celebrity Sweeney has tracked in recent times. The college student has also tracked the movements of X (formerly known as Twitter) owner and billionaire mogul Elon Musk.

At some point in 2022, Musk grew tired of Sweeney's antics and offered him $5000 to desist from publicly sharing his flight information. However, Sweeney refused the offer and asked for ten times the amount, to which Musk didn't respond.

Later on, X took down the account through which Sweeney posted Musk's flight details, with the billionaire mogul subsequently hinting at why it was done in a tweet.

"Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info," Musk said at the time, adding, "Posting locations someone traveled to on a slightly delayed basis isn't a safety problem, so [it] is ok."

Apart from Swift and Musk, Sweeney has also tracked over 100 jets, including those owned by Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian, Jeff Bezos, and former President Donald Trump.
