Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino recently experienced a terrifying parenting moment that made him wish he got CPR lessons sooner.

The reality TV star, best known for his days on MTV's "Jersey Shore" series, got the shock of his life when his son Romeo Reign started choking on his dinner. The nerve-wracking moment was caught on his home's ring camera, which he shared on social media.

Mike' The Situation' Sorrentino & His Wife Calmly Handled Their Son's Choking Incident

In the video shared on Instagram, The Sorrentino family were captured enjoying dinner with Romeo seated at the end of the table. On one side was an unknown woman, who held a child, presumably the couple's baby daughter, while Mike sat a chair away from his son.

His wife, Lauren Pesce, could be seen working in the kitchen while enjoying a conversation with the other woman and Mike when things took a devastating turn. After grabbing a bite of his food, Romeo began coughing and holding on to his throat, making someone ask if the meal was "too hot" for him to handle.

However, it became painfully clear that the 2-year-old was choking, and Mike jumped into action, leaving his seat to start patting Romeo's back. The stuck food didn't immediately come out, causing him to move the boy away from the table while hitting his back.

Meanwhile, Lauren rushed to the kitchen counter while calmly asking her husband for a device to ease Romeo's pain. Neither of the parents raised their voices or panicked, which kept their son equally calm until they could dislodge the meal stuck in his throat with the device.

Finally free from danger, the toddler began coughing and crying while his mother wrapped him in a bear hug. As she consoled him, Lauren used the incident as a teaching moment and explained what had happened to Romeo.

In the post's caption, Mike described the incident as "THE SCARIEST MOMENT OF OUR LIVES" and revealed the situation was more dire than it looked in the ring camera footage because Romeo couldn't breathe.

"It was an ordinary dinner at the Situations when suddenly, without notice, Romeo started choking on his favorite pasta pesto gnocchi !! He hunched over and wasn't breathing," the TV personality wrote before praising the couple's calm reactions to the event, adding:

"I am so proud of how my wife and I didn't panic, didn't hesitate, and eventually dislodged the food which was blocking airway and saved his life. I love my family with all my heart and am so grateful things worked out."

The parents also learned a valuable lesson from the terrifying moment as Mike concluded his caption with their future plans, writing: "It's safe to say we are now taking CPR lessons, and Romeo won't be having gnocchi anytime soon."

Mike Sorrentino's Son Looks Like A Character From 'Boss Baby'

When Mike welcomed his first child, Romeo, in May 2021, he never expected his son to have a fictional twin. The "Dancing with the Stars" alum wowed the internet with his newborn's uncanny resemblance to the character from the children's animation "Boss Baby."

The proud dad shared a picture of baby Romeo's perfect eyebrow lift and adorable pout next to a photo of the iconic "Boss Baby" star (voiced by Alec Baldwin). The similarities between the pair were undeniable, with Mike captioning the post: "Boss baby Sitch."

His wife, Lauren, agreed in the comments, writing, "My little boss baby." Mike's "Jersey Shore" co-star Snooki echoed similar sentiments with the comment "STAHP IT" and three crying face emojis. More agreements came from fans, with an IG user penning: "How are his eyebrows so perfect?!"

Mike may find another fictional character that resembles his next child as he and Lauren are expecting their third bundle of joy. The lovebirds announced the joyful news in September 2023, just nine months after welcoming their daughter Mia Bella.

They shared the update on Instagram, dropping a carousel of heartwarming family pictures. The snaps featured a fall theme with autumn hues and pumpkins while the group posed with a strip of ultrasound images.

"Good things come in threes. Adding another pumpkin to our patch ?? Baby #3 coming March 2024," Mike captioned the touching post. Lauren, fully aware that things were about to get that much busier, commented: "Three under three. Here we go."

Her beau's MTV crew also could not contain their excitement, with Pauly D cheering, "Hat trick!!!" Vinny Guadagnino added, "Anotha one," while Snooki warmly welcomed them to the "3 clubs!!!”
