Late-night talk show host Seth Meyers is addressing the hate Taylor Swifthas been receiving from NFL fans for "ruining the sport."

Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that the pop icon is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. The couple went official in September when she showed up at the game to support her boyfriend, even seen sitting with his mom, Donna.

Ever since, the NFL has had fun with the 'Red' singer's attendance, showing her at multiple games as she cheered on the Chiefs alongside new gal pal, Brittany Mahomes, as well as other celebs such asRyan Reynolds and Blake Lively

While Swifties are loving the coverage, others are slamming the singer for "ruining" football. Now, Seth Meyers is speaking out, backing the pop icon.

The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, but Taylor Swift is going to "shake it off" as she continues to show up at NFL games to cheer on and support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who has just made it into the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the big game ahead, many NFL fans are worried that the coverage will focus too much on Swift cheering Kelce on from the sidelines. Seth Meyers, however, is speaking out, asking fans "Why are you so mad?"

“For all the people who complain about shots of Taylor Swift dancing and having fun during games, why? Why are you so mad?” Meyers said during a recent episode of 'Late Night With Seth Meyers'. “I love football, but there’s 11 minutes of actual gameplay [shown on the broadcast].”

He continued, “What would you rather look at: shots of [Kansas City Chiefs coach] Andy Reid’s mustache freezing? Well, good news, you get both!”

For those who are unaware, the late-night talk show was referring to the sub-zero temperature game in Kansas City at the start of the NFL playoffs, where it was so cold, that the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had icicles hanging from his mustache.

“Taylor was at that game [too] and that’s when I knew it was for real,” he joked on his late-night show. “When this woman went to Kansas City in January when it was minus f—king 27 [degrees] with a wind chill because you know where else Taylor Swift could have been? Anywhere.”

After Travis Kelce and the Chiefs won the AFC Championship game and made it into the Super Bowl, Taylor Swift made her way down the field to congratulate her boyfriend, something Meyers also commented on during his show.

“This is such an innocent All-American thing: They’re kissing on the field after he wins the big game, and she’s celebrating with his mom and dancing along with family,” the talk show host said, adding, “How can you be mad at that?”

Despite the backlash, many other celebrities, commentators, and former athletes have stood up for Swift, including Stephen A. Smith, who has previously said, “I have to take a moment to come to the defense of Taylor Swift. Everybody’s sitting up there and acting like she’s some kind of impediment.”

The sports analyst added, “Excuse me, she did her job! That Eras Tour? Off the chain. Generated billions. She’s going to support her dude. To show up at a football game and the cameras are on her — that ain’t her fault!”

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The big game will be played in Las Vegas on February 11, 2023.
