Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are involved in a lawsuit for damages after being forced to evacuate their lavish California mansion.

The Hollywood sweethearts became embroiled in an ongoing lawsuit when their $20 million dream home became a nightmare thanks to a mold infestation. The pair want to be compensated for the property's issues; however, their case is becoming another legal drama.

No One Is Willing To Take Responsibility In Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas's Home Case

Chopra and Jonas purchased the California property in September 2019, believing it would be a state-of-the-art blessing for their family. The mansion had everything a celebrity could ask for, including a chef's kitchen, a temperature-controlled wine room, a full-service gym, and a billiards room.

The property also featured seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an indoor basketball court, an interior bowling alley, a home theater, an entertainment lounge, and a spa with a steam shower, amongst other luxuries. However, the couple barely enjoyed these comforts as things went awry around April 2020.

According to their lawsuit filed in May 2023, Chopra and Jonas began facing issues with the pool and spa. These problems included "porous waterproofing" that "fostered mold contamination and related issues."

The then-newlyweds also noticed a water leak at the barbecue area on the deck, which allegedly damaged "a portion of the interior living area immediately below the deck." The legal documents obtained by PageSix stressed that the highlighted problems made the mansion "virtually unlivable" and "dangerous from a health perspective to occupy."

"This has resulted in substantial and significant damage along with a failure of consideration, which requires that the purchase and sale be rescinded," the lawsuit stated, adding that Chopra and Jonas are seeking "consequential damages" via their trustee.

"In the alternative, plaintiff should be reimbursed for all costs of repair, plus compensation for the loss of use and other damages caused by defendants' conduct," the document read.

While the exact costs are yet to be determined, the complaint stated the waterproofing issues will exceed $1.5 million, while general damages are estimated at around $2.5 million. Fred Fenster, the attorney representing the couple's trustee, shared further details about the ongoing lawsuit.

According to the legal representative, the case had experienced several hiccups as no one was willing to take responsibility. Everyone linked to the mansion is allegedly suing each other to deter the blame. In Fenster's words:

"The trustee filed the lawsuit against the builder, the builder then filed a cross-complaint against sub-contractors, the sub-contractors then filed lawsuits against their people."

"It's like everybody who put a pick or a shovel in the property is going to be involved, and it's going to be up to the builder to decide and prove who was responsible for the defects," the attorney lamented.

As for Chopra and Jonas, the duo have since moved out of the California mansion with their daughter, Malti. It is unclear when they will return, but they may remain in another property until the repairs on their $20 million home are completed.

Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas's Daughter Got Her First Fascinator

A month after filing their May 2023 lawsuit, Chopra and Jonas stole the internet's heart with their daughter's cuteness. The Indian actress shared the moment on her Instagram Story, dropping a picture of the adorable family.

In the snap, the "Quantico" star looked stunning in a white embroidered sari and an elegant messy bun. She completed the look with exquisite chandelier earrings and a radiant smile. Meanwhile, her beau opted for a casual look with an off-white linen shirt and matching trousers.

While the couple are undoubtedly attention grabbers, the picture's MVP was their daughter, Malti. The adorable toddler matched her parents' white theme with a mini white dress and matching white sandals.

Malti's look was completed by her dad, who was photographed wearing a white fascinator on the little girl's head. "First Fascinator. Ready for Ascot MM?" Chopra captioned the touching moment, referencing the Ascot week, one of Britain's most well-known racecourses.

This sweet picture marked one in many updates the power couple have blessed fans with since their daughter arrived in 2022. Last May, they gave social media users a glimpse at their delightful picnic, with Chopra sharing the snap on her Instagram page.

In the picture, the mother and daughter were sitting on a blanket with their backs facing the camera. Meanwhile, Jonas was in daddy mode and peeling fruit for his family.
