Angus Cloud's estate has been sued by Verizon Wireless who claims the actor owed them over $4,000 at the time of his death.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the operator alleged that the "Euphoria" star racked up a debt of more than $4,000 and they want their money. This is the third creditor's claim that has been filed against Cloud's estate since his tragic passing in July 2023.
Angus Cloud Estate Allegedly Owes $4k To Verizon Wireless
In the court documents, Verizon Wireless alleged that Angus purchased goods and/or services in the amount of $4,282.7 and wasn't able to pay up before his demise. The creditor's claim was addressed to the late actor's mother, Lisa Cloud — who sought to be the sole executor of his estate.
Verizon's claim comes just weeks after the actor's former manager alleged in another lawsuit that Angus owed him almost $95,000 in unpaid commissions. As we reported, the manager, Diomi Cordero, alleged that Angus stopped paying commissions without any basis long before he passed.
Cordero claimed that Angus owed him a total of $94,770 in unpaid commissions from several Hollywood projects. The document revealed that the former manager and the 25-year-old had an agreement for him to pay ten percent (10%) commission of compensation received to Cordero, but the late star breached the contract in early 2022.
The filing claimed the ex-manager had "a record of [Angus] making numerous commission payments to him until he ceased making such payments with no basis."
The document further read, that Cordero "engaged in bona fide settlement negotiations with [Angus's] legal representative, and a formal Settlement Agreement was circulated but not agreed to nor executed."
The manager listed a $17,500 payment from Angus' Ralph Lauren fragrances gig, which he landed in February 2022 as part of the owed commission payment. A $15,000 debt from “Euphoria” season 2 and a $15,000 payment from a collaboration with Atelier Luxury Group, were also included.
There was also an unpaid commission of $13,500 from a Rayban Appearance and $10,000 from a Reebok social media post. Cloud's collaborations with brands like Zara, Fila, Revolve, and more were included in the filing.
In November 2023, Angus' family was hit with their first creditor's claim from the financial institution JP Morgan Chase for unpaid credit card debt. The financial institution alleged that Angus owed them $9,056.11 before his demise. The claim was filed on November 27, by a representative of the prestigious financial institution and was served to the late actor’s mother.
Angus Cloud Had Seven Drugs In His System At The Time Of His Death
Angus died in his Oakland, California home after he was found unresponsive by his mother. At first, speculations were rife that the rising star took his own life due to the heavy grief of his father's passing. However, his mother, Lisa, debunked the rumors.
"Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time. I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father's untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one," she began in her statement shared on Facebook.
Lisa recalled her son's final hours, noting he was "reorganizing his room and placing items around the house with intent to stay a while in the home he loved. He spoke of his intent to help provide for his sisters at college, and also help his mom emotionally and financially.”
She stated that Angus "did not intend to end his life" before adding, "When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning. I don't know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep, and didn't wake up."
Her message concluded, "We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it's abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world. His struggles were real."
Months after Angus' death, his autopsy report revealed that the "Euphoria" star had SEVEN different drugs in his system at the time of his death. Fentanyl, cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Adderall were among the substances listed.
